Actually you could do that on the cheap real easy and with as good a look. Go to a decent craft shop and buy some glass paint and outliner. The outliner comes out like a silicone which dries hard and lots of people use it to give a stained glass effect. Very realistic.

True, but there's still a difference between real leaded glass and painted glass. But I might actually try your method

Yes, that is real stained glass, and yes, that is an IBM Model M keyboard.

It's an Aero Engine 2 case with the side panel window replaced, with replacement fans and cathodes.
