Ageia PhysX demonstration using UT3 Mod (Tornado Videos)

Folks,

The Ageia Tornado level is not actually part of UT3 but rather a mod for UT3 created by Ageia to show off their Physx physics processor. There is some pretty cool physics going on in that level. It is quite interesting to play.

This map wasn't created by Epic but rather by Ageia. It isn't part of the game but rather it is a mod created by Ageia. I think you're correct when you say it isn't up to the high visual level of the rest of the maps that actually come with the game however this map isn't about visuals - it's about using a tons of cool physics as a disruptive element in the game and it does a really good job of conveying that.

This map isn't in "the roster" as it isn't actually part of UT3.

The sniper tracer doesn't look too big to me.

I wonder just how special this map is... can it be played without the PhysX card?

I like the look of the map, a lot! But the tornado is really quite poor by UT3 standards.

Besides the look, it doesn't seem to do much to the buildings, and it's too small - I'd save it for warfare levels that are large so you can have a properly sized tornado.

UT3 HAS BERSERK PICKUP!! Around 3/4 through the vid. Seems to function like adrenaline combo, but its a regular pickup!

Very nice video, lots and lots of destructible objects in that map! I wonder if some of those features are offline only, like how he hit an object with the RL, making it fly into and killing a bot.

Nice find! I didn't notice it. This does bode well for cool pickups on maps!

At the end of the second video while he's camping on the rooftops, sniping the guys trying to grab his flag. You'll notice that the last time it shows him when he's not zoomed, his Sniper Rifle has the "invisible" transparency to it.

It clearly said BERSERK.

You don't need both, the amp and berserk, on the same map, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the amp is no more.

I didn't get a good lock at the pickup, but I did notice it by the countdown timer. Interesting.

Hmm, then the icon might be just a placeholder for all pickups. It's probably a Berserk pickup afterall.
