    Consecutive Dodging

    I always thought that a consecutive dodging ability should be in the game. For example if you dodge off a ledge and another wall is within the dodge range you can't wall dodge of that wall because you used your dodge coming off the ledge. I would like to see it where that second wall dodge would be available to us.

        Like in Unreal Championship 2?

        I always thought UT would've worked well if it completely embraced the dodge/jump stuff and all the maps (DM at least) became vertical, so you'd have to dodge off walls up and down levels to cut off players retreating. It gives a vertical movement gimmick so it'd work great in maps based around it, kind of like how Quake had strafe jumping as a lateral movement gimmick.

        The point being, having a movement gimmick to allow players to move faster than other players is the best way to make a game fun to play. Otherwise all the 1v1s become hide-behind-corners-poke-out-fire-hide-again.

          Now that the dodgejump is out, I don't think it would be such a bad idea to let players walldodge after a regular dodge.

                  Why? It doesn't really increase airtime, just lets you be more unpredictable against hitscan weapons, which is a good thing IMO.

                    I didn't know they took out wall-dodges. Of course, someone will make a mutator that brings them back... right?

                      Yeah and I want the ability to shoot webs out of my wrist and swing around like Spiderman. Good luck getting a bead on me then.

                        They never removed wall dodges, no one here is saying that they removed them. The thread is about being able to wall dodge right after you dodge in mid air, no UT game does this right now.

                          Actually, in UT99 I used to frequent a server which had a mutator that replaced the xloc with a grappling hook. Kinda fun actually.

                            Well correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that you can actually use the tether grappling hook thing in UT3 and attach yourself to flying vehicles.

                              That's not exactly the same is it?
                              I mean, kicking off from a wall you jumped into isn't hard even for someone like me and I'm not exactly an athlete.
