Hand off flag to another player.

In CTF it would be a nice option to hand off the flag to another player when you are low on health. Right now, (as far as I know) the only way to do this is to kill yourself in front of them and hope they pick it up. Why are bots always saying "flag carrier is here" but you can't give it to them without killing yourself, and when you do they just walk away from it? I think this would be nice for UT3.

Sorry I didn't explain further. I don't mind killing myself, it's a matter of your team member seeing you (or hearing "flag dropped") and knowing that you are giving the flag to him. Also, where I play the transporter is disabled.

Personally I don't want to "hear" flag dropped like in UT2k4, god that's annoying.

I just want to visually see it in yellow letters like I did in UT, with just the alarm sound when someone takes the flag.

I must say somtimes i have wanted to pass the flag to one of my bot buddies so that i can take a defensive role, but id rather press a button to throw it.

oh and i don't really want a flag dropped announced that's not necessary the down arrows fine

This isn't relevant but id also like the and option before starting a CTF game where you choice to take you flag back or it appears back in base upon touching it I think it would add the the realism and fun, may make it more intence

There is a "dropflag" command in UT2004. You just have to bind it to a key. I'm pretty sure it'll stay in for UT3.

You can type "dropflag" into the console, so you can drop the flag without dying and without a translocater. But I agree it would be nice to actually be able to hand off the flag to a specific player, instead of hoping someone is going to pick it up.

What's the point in playing CTF in 2k4 if you're not playing it 2k4 style? If you want no tl, then there's plenty of games that don't use it. o_O

Who's to say they should play with a TL? Most players favor one weapon over others and not even pick up certain weapons during a game. You make it sound like the TL is a requirement or something... its not. Which is why it is an option.

Reports from hal who playtested the game say that you can carry the flag on the hoverboard. (And a few articles from game-magazine editors who visited EPIC say so too).

The bots are saying "enemy flag carrier is here" just to tell you where the enemy flag carrier is.
