    Game Size Question

I am sorry if this has been asked before, I searched on the forum a little but couldn't find so didn't want to make this redundant. I heard a long time ago they wanted 20 gig for this game. If I have a PS3 and Xbox 360, is the PS3 version going to be that 20 gigs or will it be scaled back to be the same size as the 360 version anyway? Furthermore, if I upgrade a PC to be able to play this, will that version be 20 gigs still?

    No-one knows.

If someone knows, they aren't talking.

Speculation would have it that the PC version will not be influenced, in terms of graphic resolution, etc., by the consoles.

lol 20 gigs my ***. The last game was 6 cd's, or roughly 1 dvd's worth. I quite doubt that they would try to push a 5 dvd game on us, for the following reasons and more:

-20 gigs is HALF of many people's entire HD's..
      -very looooong install time
-would require much more expensive packaging
-would discourage many people from buying it

I say half that size at most.

30 gb footprint? That is nuts.. That is like how much I have free on one of my drives.. and I'm sorry but I am not gonna waste it all with one game. Ridiculous.

              exact link : http://utforums.epicgames.com/showpo...96&postcount=9

anyway, everything can still be optimised and added...
              I wouldn't mind a 50gig game if it's UT....
if it's 50 gigs of quality, it's worth it.

those who don't want to use all that space can still delete maps from a gametype they will never use (warfare and ons maps for those who want to do plain classic DM/CTF)

EDIT : DavenH, let's not get crazy here...

mmm.. a good idea is an option during the install process that let you choose what things you want to install to save space.

I wouldn't be surprised. I have UT2004 installed, and with only add-on maps, and mutators (no TC mods) it comes out to 21GB!

Some of us actually do useful stuff with our computers, like editing video and multitrack audio recording.

Then imagine what your UT3 cache would be like if it followed a similar trend.

If I have to, I'll delete all my personal documents and other games just to run UT3

Obviously that "30 GB" doesn't say much at this time, just like with every other aspect, it's a matter of waiting to see how it turns out.

Luckily I won't have to delete my 163gb **** folder to get enough space
