Hedge-o-Matic repliedHal's description would seem to indicate that you can't link to team mates with the link gun anymore.

If you have to aim and shoot the little armor plate things or what ever they are that are rotating around the node if multiple hits coming from different directions is a more effective way to bring a node down then a more powerful link hit but with a single fire that is trying to hit all the rotating plates.

-echohawk- repliedOriginally posted by Jonny View PostI'm sure that'll be possible. Lets hope the power boost is even more powerful this time - it was very underused in UT2004 for combat, i guess that's because people don't like the idea of 1. Using up their ammo for 2. Someone else to shoot with (their aim may be inferior) so i reckon if they increased the powerboost/ made the projectiles go faster when linked, it would help make the linkgun a much more popular gun than it was in 04.

I mean to say in UT2 link makes sense because all a person has to do is aim toward the middle and that was that. But in UT3 looks like aiming just at the center mass may not be a very effective strategy, so if you do link to someone in UT3 to bring down a node you better be linked to someone who is able to jump and dodge mantas and enemy fire and still manage to hit all the rotating plates.

What I've seen so far of the primary was more blue than white. Not sure if I like that.

Ultron repliedI just want to point out that a greenish tint seems visible from it's gunfire.

I also believe there were some other tricks with it. Like using adrenaline move (regenerate) with say someone that has more health (Jaggernaut) then your character class (say Gen Mo'Kai), it would put you above that characters normal health level.
From Hal's Hands On.
LinkGun - The recipient of a major visual overhaul, now an odd whitish color, this weapon returns, in functionality, to its Unreal Tournament state. That is to say, it still retains its healing abilities towards vehicles, but the primary fire is smaller and faster and the secondary is pretty much an arrow-straight beam of finite length.
