Ummm, you get hit by a weapon, each bullet/projectile does a certain amount of damage, which is deducted from health
When it reaches 0, you are dead.

I mean will it be identified as a number like in previous versions or is it going to be like gears where you get a symbol and have to "guess" how much health you have left?

I'm hoping that it's a #. I hate the gears health system. I don't mind the regen, but not knowing the %age I'm at is very much a pain in the ***.

It'll be identified as a number. Everyone knows that changing it into a symbol or the like will invoke the wrath of all of the hardcore UT players.
