Well I, for one, do have those specs...although I'm sure the majority of Africa does not.
That Pentium 4 is still quite weak. Combined with that graphics card and only 1GB of RAM, you're probably looking at running UT3 on low at most. We'll have to wait on the game to know for sure.
the majority of non-africans wouldn't have a gf8800pc, i assure you. why do you think valve collect sys spec in steam back then and post it for evaulation? they want to make their games scaleable so everyone could enjoy, not just pc DIY cult who thinks they're the only ones capable of running this.
I don't think a Pentium 4 would have serious trouble running UT3. Epic need to be careful not to make the game too demanding for a big part of the playerbase.
Mostly since I'm gonna buy a PC when UT3 comes out, I've been ready since christmass and every delay is REALLY STARTING TO ANNOY ME!!!
and as far as the number of people that will be able to run UT3 vs the world population, you have to remember that many socialist nations excluding europe generaly lack the intrest or economy to buy the super fast computers. Now you will find exceptions but they will be isolated (and probably vocal). I expect that very few people in china, japan, and most of the east will play UT3. The Tournament has had a lack of asian participants as well. This is probably good since (and bad) because I don't want frag some korean girly-man (although I kinda do). I mean somtimes you have to stare a full minute to find out if they are male or female and then you still are not sure. I dont wana frag gender confused individuals, its like hiting a girl, but they might be a guy, but that still might not make it ok.
how many people do you think, out of the total population of the entire planet, has a duocore gf8800 4gbram pc?
There is a wide range of gfx cards between 6600 and 8800 you know. Don't need to have a 8800 to play this game, it's only needed if you are the kind of player who think looks>gameplay. By the time the game is out I'm sure there will be cheap cards that is enough to enjoy the game. A 6600 could be enough to run a DM map, but remember that all the ppl saying "you need to get a new rig to play the game" actually don't have a clue about wth they are talking about. Even Epic don't know the lowest spec yet. Don't ask around here and get bad info. Wait for the demo, test your system and then you will know.
