    And multi-core CPUs have generally more potential than physically multi-CPU systems because the in-between synchronizations and bands can run at much higher frequencies when the cores are placed on the same chip. Longer wires physically force the clock frequencies down.

        I thought the biggest bottle neck on the PC is the graphics cards not the processor.

        Do games put any real load on a CPU? I've got a dual core but whenever i've tabbed out of a game and looked its never flat out at 50% or 100%.

          2k4 was all about CPU, holy **** or ultra low display settings has no impact on the performance what so ever on my old x800 gfx card. UT3 will put a lot more stress on the gfx thou.
