you are part of that community you ******

i love ONS and i greatly enjoy AS. as long as warfare isnt a horribly done mixture of the two then it should be alright. i mean there are plenty of ways to screw things up but from all that has been released it sounds fun to me so far

I don't compete in ONS, not anymore. It's been like 2 years now. I'm a TAM pub monkey now.

You guys realize that a plain ONS map can be made as a Warfare mutator/mod right?

I'd imagine it'd be fairly simple also.

True.. UT has always been good to modders. Just think of it as buying a 2 pack - one tub of PB, and one tub of mustard - mix to taste.

I hope Warfare feels like a COD 2 level - hard points to take, dying is more of a penalty to your team, and you can just break stuff up.

                BUT

If I am wrong I will come on to these forums and loudly profess how I was wrong, Warfare is great and the wish for Epic to bear all of my children.

Now with that said, how about some more info into warfare, pretty please.
I don't know...Unreal Warfare sounds badass...the size of 3 ONS/Assault maps. And I remember hearing something like 8 potential teams....sounds good to me. Also, I think ONS is in the game, but Assault got cut...feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

All I want is one simple thing. Advanced options in filters to allow me at one click to choose between a pick list of predefined filters.

                    So
                    1. instagib ONS
                    2. DM with a 50% speed reduction
                    3. Assault with ballistic weapons

                    for example

It doesn't matter that there won't be any ONS servers initially (or at all!) - but the place holder needs to be there.

I don't want to go into 1 choice for gametype, go into another screen to set up my filters, every time, and for gametypes e.g. tam that I've downloaded by following a friend list, and I haven't installed the original package, the filter for those servers will be there.

Lets just hope servers dont stick to as strict rules as they do now, Classic ONS mixed with a bit of warfare might be nice, perhaps even some CTF thrown into the mix. Vehicles, no vehicles doesnt matter because the change up will bring a new life to the community I think where you might get CTFr's on warfare pubs along with ONS lovers.

I hope it all ends up good and alittle more open then UT2k4 servers

The reason why servers are specialized is not because all admins are evil, it's because admins like to see their servers populated. In most cases having multiple game types means that there is always a set amount of players that disconnects when a game type they don't fancy is voted/forced. This results in a server that is half full at its best, and since there's also a group of players that disconnects when the player count is too low the server can end up dead. If the server has map vote it might end in one GT being voted 100% of the times and all other GT's are soon forgotten. Thats why many admins decide to put additional GT's on another server since 2 GT's on one server is 1 too much.

Your vision of the mix that will bring everyone together and form a big happy family is wonderful, but it just don't work that way. It will not bring new life to anything, just more whining. To make it work Epic has to redesign not just the game and server list but also the players..

Well 2k4 allowed you to vote gametype and map, not many servers allow it though

I see what your saying but the same applies to maps not just gametypes, usually though its not a problem of a map getting voted everyone likes, its a matter of maps being voted you've played over 100 times before.

An option for servers to be random map would be awsome so if thats combined with a system like UT2k4's map/gametype voting then it could be even better. Add like say a random mutator option with a list of mutators like gametypes/maps then you got my dream come true. Oh this round is Warfare, next round is insta CTF, well you get the idea

See DM to Warfare or CTF might not work, CTF on foot yeah that could cut it but you dont want to disconnect people on the server because one gametype isnt suited for that amount of players. If they want to disconnect thats their problem, seriously if I had those options if I was running a server I wouldnt care about possible player numbers I would just run it how I want and let players suck it up

Im glad you think my idea is good though even if you dont agree, atleast there is a few people out there who might give it a go before flying a raptor into it lol

I know I could've been wrong on the ONS/Assault stuff, but the other stuff is legit because a) Warfare mapas are going to be bigger than at least two regular Assault maps, b) Multiple teams are going to compete, and c)this game is looking pretty badass, and if you don't think so, why the f*ck are you posting here?

Or even without a mutator, if the mapper doesn't use any orbs.
