Unreal Tournament 3 Gametypes

Hey guys!

Now I know I've made this thread before, but it had the 2007 name so I figured I'd just make a new one because my question still stands. (Unless it has been answered and I missed it in which case...my bad)

Anyway, what are the game types in UT3? Is EPIC still deciding? Warfare AND Onslaught or Warfare IS Onslaught? If anyone has info on that please help me out

The new single-player campaign is deeper and more engaging than before, and players will be happy to know that old favorite characters have returned and are joined by several new ones. Epic plans to provide advanced online changes to suit all three platforms, bringing seamless loading, improved matchmaking and co-operative campaign online play. Yes, cooperative online play indeed. Familiar online modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag will be joined by an all-new Warfare mode among others. This game type features two teams with "asymmetric" goals, meaning they won't necessarily have identical objectives.

...Deathmatch (incl. 1vs1 I imagine)
...Team Deathmatch
...Capture the Flag (incl. VCTF as been confirmed)
...Warfare
Right?

If that’s the case then PERFECT, that's exactly what I wanted to hear

However...it says "Among Others".....what others?

I would rather it say something like

I wish for the love of ANYTHING they would tell me that Classic ONS is still in. I'm just not interested in a bastardized form of ONS + Assault

tough luck, I'd rather have one mode than another split DM, TDM, CTF and WF are enough and right now I don't see why there shoudln't be WF-maps without all the extras, so that it more or less plays like ONS, just a bit better :>

I am suddenly reminded of how Double Domination was supposed to be better than Domination... The community thought different. Because Double Domination was just BAD.

Why? Because there was a video showing some tanks on ONS-Torlan.
I can't remember where the vid was... anyone know? It showed the paladin first.

Man there will probably end up being a mod just like classic domination or 4ctf etc

I think 4 modes should be more then enough to get people started, you'll have to wait to see what the community does in terms of map packs and Epics official support as well. As much as I liked all the 2k4 and UT99 modes it was a bit much, you also got to consider the more sp element which might bring about a more classic assault like feel.

True, you can watch it on gametrailers.com (towards the bottom of the UT3 video list). However that video is quite old and was released before the announcement of the onslaught and assault merge.

Seriously what's wrong with having more than 4 modes? You are forcing people to play things they just aren't interested in. There is a reason I played ONS and NOT Assault. Just like there is a reason I played vCTF and NOT CTF.

Everybody screams UT99 had too many modes, yet they STILL have a decent community 8 years after the game came out. Most of the gametypes for 2k4 were just not good, Mutant and Double Domination being good examples. (now I wait for somebody to tell me how great they were) The only reason I left out Last Man Standing is because, I think, TAM came from that. TAM kept this game from truly dieing.

Basically they could break it down into actualy gametypes that people WILL play. Break up vctf and ctf you will have people playing those. Break up Warfare and ONS you will have people playing those.

Don't go screwing with your existing communities, it'll end up just ******* them off.
