Impact hammer secundairy fire

    ITS alittle offtopic but how about being able to launch a ammo box of rockets or flak ammo into the face of your enemy with the hammer? that would be soooooo funny. I know 1 thing and that is that in the battle of hammer vs flak the hammer losses lol.

      IH primary fires quick bursts of pressurized eraserhead (good for deflecting incoming rockets, etc.)

      IH Secondary loads up a large single burst of the eraserhead and will either auto-fire when you touch your enemy with it or when you let go of the mouse button. This fire mode is great for boost jumping, but at the cost of a little life.

      How does this system need any improvement? It already does everything that your shield idea does except that it doesn't hold onto ammo that's fired at you. Why in the hell would anyone think to make a device that captures one round of an enemies munitions (and only ONE) and then fires it back on the opponent? Sounds like a half baked idea to me. Stick it back in the over please.

        actually the 2nd hammer attack looked kind of useless to me. so i thought of a way to make it able to shoot back more then just rockets plus to be able to shield yourself from a fall. without the holding part one could just rapidly tap the key and fire back everything the enemy shoots at you. now there is a delay witch is kind of dangerous to the user aswell.

          Allow me to reiterate what you said in your first post.

          You want a secondary fire that:
          -Stops projectiles only (no hitscan?)
          -Only stops one of them? (flak is like 12 different shards and people don't often use single rockets)
          -You also want it to make it an effective gun (i.e. have a fighting chance)


          I just don't see how all of these ideas combined would ever make an effective gun. I would just use all hitscan vs anyone with it out and they would be completely defenseless. It just isn't a very well refined idea, and it seems kind of pointless.

            Hammer altfire did not shoot back rockets. I tried, but the rockets seemed to go right through me without hurting me. Perhaps they were very slightly thrown off course and missed me by a hair's breadth. They certainly were not deflected in any useful manner.

                well. Why not just dodge the rocket? Someone with now ammo shouldnt stand up and fight but run away. The super jump you get from secondary is far better way to flee and get ammo to attack. Main point you spawn you run to find a new gun i dont want kids standing around trying to fight me with the hammer unless i cornered them.
                The falling thing should already work with the hammer

                  I was never able to reflect any projectiles with the UT99 Impact Hammer alt-fire, but I preferred the chainsaw mutator in most matches.

                      I'd like to see the Impact Hammer secondary actually be a chainsaw ala the original UT's chainsaw, and Gears of War.

                          I'd like to see secondary fire more as shield in melee fights - you can knock back opponent in close combat (more than shock rifle) and block damage from his impact hammer; also if you use 2ndary fire, all sticked grenades are unstick from you

                          In othere way it should be like 2nd fire from classic UT (changing projectiles trajectory, though it needed good skill in timing to use this ability)

                            Way to promote hitscan usage against unarmed players. No, I don't think this is a good idea.

                            The impact hammer secondary didn't REflect projectiles, it just DEflected them. This essentially made it worthless though, because any projectile fired from a weapon with a low enough ROF to deflect individual projectiles also had a hitradius, therefore those projectiles were never fired directly at you.
                            All projectiles that were directly fired at enemies were fired with such a high ROF that the Hammer didn't reload quickly enough to deflect all projectiles.
