UT3, will it be part of "Games for Windows" ?

Hi, seing that now the 360 is getting UT3, i wondered if the PC version would be jumping on the "Games for Windows" thing Microsoft are doing (Didnt Mark Rein say awhile ago in an interview he thought that it was a good idea ?).

Basically it means the game gets extra testing, proper intergration with vista, 360 pad support (if the game has gamepad support), and extra cool things like widescreen support in every game, 32bit and 64bit support and im pretty sure extra things. And a nicer looking box with the Games for Windows branding at the top

Personally i think it would be a good thing if it is, puts more confidence in me that im getting a good product, instead of some Ubisoft plop, ya know ?

This is a long shot, and i highly doubt it would happen for obvious reasons, whats the likelyhood of cross-play with the 360, like Shadowrun is doing ? (It would certainly be cool to play my 360 buddies, and own them ).

I did search to see if these questions had been asked before so dont burn me with your fearsome typing skills please

Doesn't the Games for Windows logo also mean that it won't be having native Mac or Linux support?

No, it just means its 64-bit aware... can function in Widescreen... can accept the 360 controller... etc.

Don't make assumptions unless you know who they are exactly.

Which Epic can do on their own without MS's help

Do you even know what the word boycot means?

The monopoly quote made my day, though.

I'd like it, if a linux+mac installer is still available - non 3rd party.
Games for windows isn't that bad, has advantages, and almost zero disadvantages, unless theres an evil contract to make it windows only.

It can't be windows only since they're also making it for PS3.

Which, AFAIK, doesn't run on windows.

Exactly, to us lot (the buyers), it simply gives us better games that support things that should be in every game, and also gives people like Epic extra marketing for the game (Crysis is also getting pimped by this).

Win-Win situation from what i can see, unless like you say, there is some evil contract

I'm $ure I'm not the only one having a $slightly harder time trying to take people $eriou$ly when they mi$$pell "MS" on purpo$e.

From what I've seen, the Games for Windows deal will only improve things for consumers, so I'm all for it.
Of course it would be ideal if Epic would still make Linux and Mac versions, or have them made.
It's not based on much, but I doubt Epic will be disallowed by MS to port the game.

I thought the new "Games for Windows" branding implied Vista only.

                              Am I wrong?
