I think that it is fine the way it is. Also, the link gun and shock rifle could hurt a vehicle such as a tank because the energy they project could be incredibly hot.

First of all, what has double jump got to do with this topic?
Secondly, you think that we will be able to shoot nano bots out of a gun (link gun) but we won't have pistols which shoot amour piercing bullets?

We could, but should we? I think it speaks of bad weapon design when your choice of an anti-vehicle weapon falls on a small handgun instead of the 6-foot rocket launcher.

Of course you ganna use a RL oder AVRiL against vehicles, if you have one. But if you have no weapons at all, exept for an Inforcer an an Impact Hammer, you should be able to do some dmg to any vehicle. Not very much dmg, and btw that is how it will be balanced, but if that thing is about to fall apart why should you not be able blow it up with some bullets or at least take some healthpoints?

Surely the small, convenient handgun would be better than a 6-feet rocket launcher (if it could harm tanks)?

Besides, you're missing the point here. I'm saying that the enforcer could hurt the goliath.

Didn't they say that a tank's treads could be shot out? A pistol might not be able to pierce the armor, but it could jam the tracks.

On the contrary. I don't recall saying that it could not. I'm saying that it should not.

Or not significantly, at least. Like only 5 damage per shot.

Yes, they did. Around the same time they said the terrain would dynamically change as it was conquered, there'd be resource gathering drones, maps would be near-infinite in size and load while playing, there'd be some gametype called Conquest, or Warfare, and the game would be more "in your face".

And until you play it, you're still not sure about how much of that has changed.

The engine has been implemented into MMOs, so the rendering engine completely has the compatibility for it (don't say they said the netcode can't support it... they were talking about the multiple-thousand character netcode.)

Meaning what? That I should stay ever optimistic and hopeful? I know that my assumptions aren't proven, but I am nevertheless confident that I will not see most of the things I listed.

The good news is that a foot soldier with a shock rifle is no longer the vehicle killer that it was in 2004. These beasts have some new tricks up their sleeves and the UT3 weapons do not seem to defeat them as easily. As it should be, one would not expect a massive futuristic tank to be taken down effortlessly by a hand-held infantry gun.

Great, now even a noob will be able to get a rampage. :F (imagine how many ppls will camp at goliath/levi/other valuable vehicle spawn)

A n00b can only get a rampage on other n00bs. Good players take care not to find themselves in a Goliath's sights.

I think the reason is quite simple, just check this game series name. It called "Unreal" otherwise it should has a name like "Red Ocheska" or "ARMA"....
