There was some fun stuff in XMP, but going from "deployables" to "XMP" is a stretch. UT3 is not going to have any "how many tripmines and turrets can I put in my base". I highly doubt that tripmines or turrets will be in UT3. UT3 is not going to have classes. It certainly is not going to have energy management in the same way that XMP did. If you want to play something like XMP then go play XMP. I really don't think anything comparable will ever come along.

Some of the things from XMP I think could be fun in WAR and vCTF; team doors and hackable doors.
Perhaps rather than using the Link Gun, which seems to be the equivalent, some of these hackables could be activated with Orbs.
Too bad we don't have enough information on the gametypes to really know anything.
Deployables are OK, but not the things I think would add the most to the game.

I liked the way that XMP had the "Take and Hold" sort of feel of DOM combined with the situational complexity of Onslaught. Oh, and a whole heap of added detail as well.
I hope someone does an XMP for UT3, or that Warfare has some of the better parts incorporated (which is how I think it'll be; after all, Epic likes games, too, and seemed to enjoy XMP at the time).

I also hope for at UT3 conversion, but FMI has already said no, and it sounds like 2k4 code/maps are not all that portable...
on the upside...V3.52 of UTXMP is out and very very playable...check it out...
