I was wondering whether it would be possible to create a 2d scene, where a beam of light (or light cone) is affixed to a pivot point. Moving the mouse or controller simply moves the spot light around a black backdrop...

When the beam of light hits a specific object (a tutorial house) a particle effect is triggered and the house comes into full view

(Also the spot light would light up a small circular area wherever it shone (for example the terrain)

So i guess the question is.. can a spot light be the avatar?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated
