    pickupmessage for UTHealthPickupFactory Solved - Kinda

    Hi All,
    I have just recently switched from ut2004 over to ut3. I am working on creating a custom health pack and I am stuck on the in game message.

    I have managed to switch out the model, texture and amount no problem but the pickup message is killing me. No matter what I do it seems to use the message from the class I am extending from instead of the class I am in.

    I can change the name of the class I am extending from in the .int file but I dont want to change the message for that item just the new one I have created. Also when I put in the defualt properties PickupMessage="customHealthPickUp" the compliler tells me that it should only be in the int not the uc. heres what I am doing

    Code:
    class customHealthPickUp extends UTHealthPickupFactory;

    	defaultproperties
    {

    PickupMessage="customHealthPickUp"

    	bSuperHeal=true

    	RespawnTime=5.000000

    	HealingAmount=7

    	Begin Object Name=HealthPickUpMesh
    			StaticMesh=StaticMesh'Pickups.Ammo_Shock.Mesh.S_Ammo_ShockRifle'
    		Scale3D=(X=1.0,Y=1.0,Z=1.0)
    	End Object

    	Begin Object NAME=CollisionCylinder
    		CollisionRadius=+00030.000000
    		CollisionHeight=+00020.000000
    		CollideActors=true
    	End Object
    }

    help please

    This would be better asked in the scripting forum, not here.
    Anyway, try making an .int file for your item in: Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Localization\INT
    or: Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\Localization\INT
    with something within yourpackagenamehere.int, and like this:

    [customHealthPickUp]
    PickupMessage="You got the customHealthPickUp"

    I don't know if this will work, I've just looked around to see how other mods have done it.
