  • Static Meshes

I'm currently making a level that has a sort of Forgotten Castle theme to it... does anyone know of any downloadable static meshes I could use as I cant find anything and there doesnt really seem to be anything that fits in with the level in the stock packages.

    Thanks in advance

You can make your own with a 3d modeling software, or search turbosquid.com for free models (Google might also work). If you don't own a 3d modeling software, download Blender (free) to make models or convert them to a good format. You can also use Maya PLE (also free) and then use Blender to convert the file. Unfortunately, I don't know if either of these programs support the ASE format (ActorX plugin doesn't work for PLE) so you might have to look for a 3rd party converter somewhere.

Texturing a castle shouldn't be too hard. Just look for a picture of stone walls and some window sections, and use CrazyBump<http://crazybump.com> to generate normal and displacement maps.
