I dont' see anything bad... it looks amateurish because it doesn't look like it's using the UT3 capuablitlies as it should. It does the job of playing 1 vs 1. Thats' all it does.
Why dont' you move on to build a bigger map or expand on this one... add another floor to the map and maybe add some obstacles such as crates to give the user more of a challenge, even if it takes the feel away from the original.
