  • UT3 map size and complexity

    Hi All

Does anyone know roughly how far you can go in creating maps in terms of size (length and width)?

    524288^2 Unreal Units - roughly 10km^2.

okay cool. Is it possible to do underground cavern style maps in UT3? I am not sure how exactly to do it.

        1) Stack together pile of appropriate static rock meshes (watch for collision, you dont want players getting stuck)
        or
        2) http://udn.epicgames.com/Two/ExampleMapsCaverns.html This technique can also be applied in mapping for UT3
        or
        3) Mix them both. Also, in Unreal Editor, open up stock maps like WAR-PowerSurge, WAR-Floodgate. These imo are the best examples.

The link times out and says 'server not found'. Did it work for you? There is nothing wrong with my connection or with my ISP.
