    After publishing map some textures dont work??

    Hi,

    Ive just published my first map and in the unreal 3 game certain textures are not showing, instead the default white gey grid texture. It all looks fine in UE3! Also all the water textures appear black or grey..(this might be height fog). There is one texture which seems to work fine, a kind of rusty box texture.

    Is it a case of some textures just dont work once cooked and some do?

    How can I tell which ones work without publishing it a dozen times?

    Chances are that your material is complex and requires a fall back material that you haven't supplied. So it falls back to the default one.

      is that what fallback materials are for?....When you cooked your map did you save all the packages of your custom materials or whatever you're using?

        Also if you try to use a fallback material on bsp it can cause it. Instead of using the regular one.
