    A few UnrealEd Questions

Hi, i'm a UnrealEd noob, i'm making an extravagant deathmatch map. I have a few problems regarding the lighting and shadowing.

    - Object still shines even though light is blocked by wall. How to actually block the light? I'm using Directional Light.

    - Shadows of objects on second floor show up on the ceiling of the first floor.

    Any help will be appreaciated!

Typically you don't want to use directional light for indoor maps, use point lights.

      Might wanna try this...

I'm not an expert, but sometimes a bsp surface can look a little better (no dodgy shadows) if you press f5 on its surface and disable dynamic lighting on it. Give it a try, it helped on one of my maps.

@Bret Hart - Ah sorry i didn't metion it, i'm making an outdoor map. The directional light is sun. I tried pointlight as well, but it's the same. I'm using directional light because it's Epic's advice for sun, stars etc. Thanks anyway

@Aguycalleddave - Although it didn't help but it should make my map more optimized. Thanks for the tip

I still can't solve the problems. Can anyone help me with this?
