    Free models?

Are there any free models I can use? They dont' have to be anything special, heck I'd take a box and a stick if it works. I just need something to play with so I can use it with coding. BTW, I don't have 3ds max or anything like that.

Ok, I'm trying to follow this tutorial..
      http://www.ut40k.planetunreal.gamesp...tutorial_1.htm
I'm on page 2 but he doesn't go into depth on how to import your model into UE3
      Any help?
The model I have is in .3ds format is that the format it should be in?

For StaticMeshes, it needs to be exported to the ASE format. For skeletal/animated meshes, you need to export a PSK and a PSA file.

            That's what I'm using actually.
But i'm having problems! I downloaded this sabre sword object. I opened it up in blender and combined it as one object and am prepping to export it as an ASE object.
However, I think I'm doing something wrong with the materials, well I know I am because i don't even know how to add materials to an object in blender. If anyone could help me that would be great, or better yet if someone just wants to talk to me via steam, xfire, aol, yahoo, msn, whatever. would be even better. Thanks!

When you use the ActorX plugin, make sure your mesh is in the .obj format, be aware that this does not include any animations, those will have to be exported seperatley.

download actorX from the Unreal Developer Network. Install it into 3ds max. Reply back when you have done these things.

He's using Blender. Not everyone can afford 3ds Max or Maya, and ActorX is useless for Maya PLE.

Ok so I checked it out using blender. My current object doesn't have any animations are these required? I'm not sure I even know how to do animations in UT3. Perhaps you coudl just include a copy of your blender gun for me so I can try it that way. I'm more interested in just seeing how, once I have the model in the game, I can manipulate it with code.
As is now, everytime I try to compile it gives me an error that questions if I saved the geomerty and materials of the object and it repeats that error about 5-6 times, with different face numbers in each error.

If you are building a weapon. Yeah you need it. If not it can still work with out the animation. There is sample file in the svn. I still need to clean it up.

You can check out my site that deal with blender and unreal files for psa and psk.

They are in the svn a lot of demo working since I update the blender export.
