    'Ghost' Specular hotspots...?

I have a problem! All of my static point-lights are creating directional specular hotspots when I rebuild the lighting. Before I build the lighting, all of the specular hotspots accurately reflect the locations of the point-lights, then afterwards they seem to loose their location and reflect a directional source, instead of a point. This is all happening with BSP as I do not have any SMs imported (yet). I'm in a bit of a rush, so I can't take any screenshots, but if anyone has encountered this problem, please help out.

    thanks.

That is a limitation of directional lightmaps, as their specular is an approximation and is not accurate.

If you need an accurate specular on a surface, then use shadow maps. (set forcelightmap to false on both your light and your bsp/sm)
