    Message on screen

    Is it possible to make a message appear on the player's screen activated by a trigger? This was possible in UT1 using a SpecialEvent and a Trigger I believe, but I can't seem to find this in UT3Ed.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    yes, this is possible. but not the same way. Look into kimset.

      If you want to control what the text says easily, you can always use the Log action in Kismet. This doesn't give you any control over how or where the text is displayed, though.

      If you want control over the appearance of the text, you can create a UIScene with the desired text and use Kismet to open and close the scene. There's no good way to set the text with this method, though, so you would have to have a separate scene for each message.

      There may be other methods (which don't require scripting), but I am not aware of them currently.
