    How do I deselect this thing? [Pic]

    I was happily editing my map terrain when I managed to get this to happen:



    I have no idea what is going on. Closing and re-opening does not make it go away. Can somebody please help me fix this? What the heck is that thing?

    too many terrain shader textures can cause this to happen. How many Setup Layers are you using and How many textures are there per material?

      There are only 2 solutions:

      Make all terrain materials use less textures. Total limit of all textures used on terrain is 12 or so, it includes lightmap, all textures, bumpmaps etc. This limit is fine for 3-4 layers thats it, too low for my taste.

      Other way is to make multiple terrains, or replace some kind of surface with static meshes. In your case asphalt road can be made with static meshes or CSG, thus saving one layer on terrain.

      You can always use multiple terains, one big to make grass (big construction terrain), and multiple small terrains to fill all details (like ponds, small hills etc).
