    Normal Maps inverting-please help

So for some reason, my normal maps are inverting. They look correct in Maya and my UVs are correct but then they will display inverted and very dark when they are reloaded into the editor. I am using the Nvidia plugin for photoshop and have experimented to find the correct settings. Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

try inverting the green or red channels in photoshop and reimporting.

Different programs use different cordinate systems which means sometimes you have to swizzle the normal map for it to display correctly in another.

Id really check your UV's again. I have generally found this error is caused by uv's that are facing the wrong way and making your shadows opposites.

        Ever tried CrazyBump?

Works imo better then the nVidia normapmap-plugin.

My normalmaps did the same thing for a while in Doom3 mods. (I use Zbrush). It turned out that I did indeed have to flip my red/green channels, which for some reason look right in Max and other programs, but not in game...
