    squint mode

what is the usefulness of this feature? it makes things fuzzy. anyone got a clue?

In the tutorials they tell you that it's useful to get an overall idea of color flow and how much lighting there is. To get a general look of the level (obviously) without looking at the detail.

You can change the effect in WorldInfo -> Squintmodekernelsize, if you put it lower it's less blurry

Squint mode simulates an important artistic technique to get the feel for flow, color, balance and symmetry with a level or scene.

This is useful for making sure areas of your map stand out like they should. Or that the overall color scheme work well.

With lots of details and other things "in the way" it often obscures the general feel and flow of the level and can be a great tool to get a good professional feel out of the lighting and palette of your level.
