    Emitter tutorial

This is an emitter tutorial for using an existing Epic emitter as a base for your desired effect.

    1. Start out by right clicking anywhere in the generic browser and select "new particle system" as shown in the next screenshot.

2- Create a package name, group (if you wish) and object name for your new emitter.

3- You are now presented with a cascade window for your new emitter. For a detailed description of what each of these panes is for please visit Hourence's tutorial.

4- Now- open up an existing Epic emitter you want to base your emitter from by double clicking it in the generic browser. For this tutorial I used P_WP_Linkgun_Projectile from the WP_LinkGun package.

5- To get the four parts of this emitter to your new empty emitter window- right click on each column and choose EMITTER-> EXPORT EMITTER as shown below.

6- As you can see this takes each column and puts them into your new emitter for you to work from.

7- Now edit the properties to your liking to achieve your desired result. Be sure to save your new package when you are finished!

8- Here is a screenshot of the end result of taking a basic link gun projectile emitter and turning it into a "lazer".

I hope you found this tutorial useful.
Again- if you have questions on particle basics I recommend Hourence's tutorial to learn more about the particle cascade window.
