    Section removal...

Hey everyone..hope Christmas celebrations were good for ya.

I have been frustrated in trying to figure out how to remove a portion of ceiling. The reason I would like this to happen is to be able to see the sky. Adding a skydome is easy enough but removing a portion/section of ceiling in order for it to be visible is another story.
This map is in subtractive mode and is my first attempt at mapping.
It is pretty much done but would like to have the sky visible if possible.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

You'll have to subtract out multiple segments. First off, a single brush for the skylight or whatever, then you will have to make either multiple subtractive brushes to make a huge "room" to put a skydome in...

I would almost just suggest starting over in Additive mode, because then you don't have to do all that....

lol someone else said i should have used additive as well. Oh well. I did however find a way of doing it.
I made a brush to the required size but not much in height...used 32 i think...anyways, i connected that to the top using intersect. Once that was in place, i made a sheet to match the size and subtracted the material (ceiling) from there and is now wide open, no ceiling and the skydome is now visible. Might be odd doing it this way but it does work for what i was attempting.

I may do another version in additive mode so i can learn that as well...overall, i think i have done alright for my first one ever.
      Should be released this weekend.

      Cheers!
