Solution to "Cross package reference" errors.

So if you are getting those errors, just rename your map to something simple, editor has trouble with module names that do not follow ol dos name rules.

The reasons why I get this error is when I pick a mesh from another map I made, Rename it into another package, then take the mesh from the package inside the new level. It's a ****ing pain and should be fixed. It just killed me another 2 hours of work straight.

I take it it's almost impossible to take a mesh from your previous level in a new one without getting that retarded error. Unless you import it again. So keep your files...

This error also ****ed up VCTF-Slax.

Easy way to fix that after you import your meshes into your level package. Just make another custom package with all of your meshes in it. That way you can just load it up when you need stuff.

Like Nawrot says, rename your map. I had the same problem, I had a two worded map name with a space.... i just deleted the second word and it solved the problem!

Name your map for time you working on it as: DM-MAP-100 (type-name-version) use only standard ASCII, no unicode national chars!. And only normal chars, numbers and minus "-" or underscore "_".

Then after you done with your map, you can rename it to something fancier, rebuild and publish. But this may cause some problems.

You probably get another "Cross Package" error, because I did try everything, especially renaming the level.
But anyway, it's a old problem now, man I love autosaves.
