    The Crucible v1.2 Released!

    The Crucible


    Requires UT3 patched to the latest (v2.1). Does NOT require previous versions of The Crucible, and will even ask to remove older versions during install.

    The Crucible is a mod for UT3, that adds award winning new weaponry, characters and art.
    With the release of the update v1.2, we've moved out of a TC and back into mutator implementation to add greater versatility. Some of the key features include:

    -9 new award winning weapons.
    -Award winning characters including the Savior, Crusader, Skeleton Minion, Zombie, Hel and Gargoyle.
    -8 new maps, including 2 Road Rage maps.
    -Road Rage gametype adds maniacal vehicle combat.
    -New movement system.
    -Extensive new Gore system.
    -New items replace the stock items.
    -New HUD (in certain gametypes).
    -Unlockable Dual Swords by using Hammer.
    -Various settings, such as health regeneration, barrel actors, Un-desaturation, Move speed modifier and more.

    This version is implemented through various mutators for the weapons and other features. RoadRage is a gametype however, where players can upgrade their vehicle and assault enemy outposts and base.

    Problem: once installed (activating the mutator or NOT) no map loads, locked on "Precaching" screen forever....


      It's Shader Caching. It could take about 1 hour to cache.

      I put a warning on the install screen of the installer.

        Installed manually, so I haven't see the *.bat information


          OK, all works now

          One little question: why original UT3 weapon icons instead of new proper icons?
          It's the only "design flaw" I can see!


            UT3's weapon bar is not friendly to custom weapons.

            Has anyone gotten the dual sword's yet? (Without cheating!)

                So you need to let the map load for an hour untill it work?


                  Yes, basically. Also going to the characters menu will want to cache (although it may do that on the map load). It only has to cache once at least. I've no idea how to avoid this part of UT3 development, if there is a way even..


                    Awsome mod, but the weapons are kind of overpowerd.

                        We're unlikely to be doing modding again. But we're busy on something. Should have news of that soon


                          RuneStorm is a great Mod, so I look forward to seeing what you guys are up to!


                            Why not make some Gears mods?,,,,lol,


                              Just tried loading only the skeletons with no other chars.
                              But when checking personal character setting via mapmixer
                              it starts loading for over 20 minutes! Since i remember that
                              it once worked properly with a older pc im asking for possible
                              reasons - btw UT3 graphic settings are of course set lowest.
                              Also when summing up my entire other models collection
                              it loads normally and works great.
