CTF/BR-Football2K10 - **UPDATED 09/19/10** [Pics] [PC/PS3] [VER 1.4]

    yoooo bro;
    first i m srry: took me so long to try it....my old memory again...pills!

    excellent job on all; new texturing is tip top! contrasts everywhere, lighting/darkness and colors...really eyecandy

    the kizmet interaction; the sky new deco ;ur blue & red "lava" under the grids are superb; music & sounds are original and fun

    i first thought that u was under contract with pepsi! haha and i discovered the coca side of the map; this kind of lil details gives a "true" looking to the place

    the sniper spot is nicely balanced and i think i can camp there hours!

    congratz for this new version; all is nicely done and this map is very representative of what mean "custom content" imo;thx for ur work my friend, anotha keeper one ;-)

    NiTro .. cool post!! - glad you like the map, yes i did polish some materials, & tweak the sky .. yes the darker feature of the field suits the map much better .. You noticed the different Redeemer door .. i also prefer having it lower and raise .. & especially having the AI use it! I really worked for adding details / deco that fit the theme of the map and made sense rather than throwing as many meshes as i could everywhere/at the map .. heh .. (awesome to hear this is one of your favs..) Thx dude!

    Agreed! (especially about the collision issues) maybe i'll update it again at some point / possibly next football season? (dunno) On the meshes there are some custom / modified materials & some have a dedicated lighting channel also which darkens them up so that they aren't lit as much as everything else appears to be, while it might take some getting used to; much of this is obviously deliberate - though i can certainly still see your point, & as always i do appreciate your straightforward constructive feedback.

    Anyhow, love it. The layout is great, music fits perfectly and it looks great!

    Some things that might have improved it even further, everything has a collision even all of the very small detail stuff which makes it hard to move across the map without getting stuck somewhere. Also, you seem to have changed some material settings for most of the stock meshes to make it look much darker. Dunno how to explain it good but about 50% of the maps meshes are very bright colored and the other 50% are well black, looks kinda wierd but I dunno :P

    Well that makes sense since the teleporters change the PP effects momentarily as you step through them and also since they use the 'screen capture' actor to preview their visible FOV they are actually resource heavy assets. & No problemo glad you like the map again man. Any specific reason why you don't use v-sync? it actually smooths everything out for me so i leave it enabled. (But i understand some don't use it - just curious why, its true it limits frames but the payoff for the pure smooth gameplay makes it the better option in my case)

    It may well be tied to W7, I haven't got a spare XP machine to verify. V-sync is disabled too. I noticed it exiting portals if that helps. But I understand it's very hard to track down when you cant reproduce these observations.

    I don't use SLI m8 I think it my graphics card thats slowing it down I have problems with one other game.

    Glad you've had a blast with this latest version ..

    Yeah i've seen the enforcer pickup occasionally in some DM maps but i haven't seen it used w/CTF and i've never seen the enforcer ammo in any map come to think of it. (The pickup placement is faithful to the original map for the most part, but i figured adding the enforcer would enhance this UT3 version - seems that was correct)

    The scoring stingers are supposed to be fanfare with the cheering / beats etc. Glad they're a hit.

    Absolutely .. in fact; someone tried to suggest to me the field should be green (which was attempted in an earlier released version) & TBH that threw the entire map off IMO, (so i reverted & reworked the field) and in a futuristic 'unreal' setting such as this with as you say explosions everywhere turf doesn't make sense, a hardened alloy / metal of some type does though & the darker style field definitely was intentional.

    Very good use of deco. I like all the different areas you can look into and see something going on whether it is a view of the stars/space under you or different machinery. I think it is very cool how all the different deco all has a purpose and works together to make stadium stay afloat in outerspace. The flagroom looks killer with all the pipes and lighting changes. I really like what you did with that. To me it seems like you really re amped that room. You gave it some very nice trim/deco without going over board. Just the right amount. Very nice changes to the upper halls again you gave it it a nice tweaking without overly decorating it.
    Indeed! i did ad quite a bit of additional detail while at the same time keeping it all tied together to stay within the theme of the map ..

    Thx bro .. not sure on the performance issue, (what speed is your processor and what O/S? out of curiosity) ran fine on the 5 machines i tested it on (a little choppy in certain areas on the Pentium D) but otherwise good on the others, one machine C2D 2.6 4700 / 8800GT ran the map fine also (v-sync is enabled on all machines)

    Thx for the heads up, still wondering if its an O/S or UT3 setting issue?? cause it runs quite well on some other machines that are slower than your higher-end hardware bro .. (are you still SLI?)

    What speed is that Windsor? I run a C2D 2.8 and a 9800 GT and this runs like a raped ape on my PC. Do you have V-sync enabled? On my system everything seems to run better with V-Sync enabled especially UT3 and Sacred 2.
