    GenMoKai Faraleth 1.1 w/ custom rig/animations/physics etc. (Update:r1.1)

    Name: Faraleth
    Version: Release 1.1
    Compatibility: PC. Requires patch 1.3 and above
    Description:
    This is my version of UT2k4's Gen Mo Kai character Faraleth. I've made changes to the character design
    that I feel better reflect the characters back story and identity while still trying to uses as many elements
    as I could from the original UT2k4 character design. I also wanted to take this opportunity to create a set of
    custom animations for a game character. I used 3D Studio Max's Biped to make a custom rig and created custom
    animations to work with this character.

    Thanks to all of those who left comments in the beta thread.

    Just extracted the files

    Instead of placing all the files in one folder and writing install intructions of where to put everything and which folders to create make it simpler
    Create the folders already with everything in place. If you extract the zip file it should look something like this
    CH_GMK_Faraleth_r1.0\My Games\Unreal tournament 3\All the subdirectories and files in place.

    If you want to make sure the beta version is removed you could add all the old line on top of the config with a -(minus) sign in front.

      Personally I prefer to not have the files in their respective folders as I like to just drag and drop right out of the rar file. Some people don't use relative pathing when they compress which is problematic for me because I've moved my Mydocs folder to a partition other than c: . If enough folks complain I'll be more than happy to include the relative paths though.

      I've tried using that method to remove the old configs before, but for some reason it crashed UT3. I know Davision uses it with no probs for his Roddents. I'll try again as it was probably some other problem while I was testing the char.

        What about starting at UTGame? No matter where you got your UT3 installed or where your mod folder is the structure will remain the same and it'll always be a copy paste afair. I use winrar, when I right click on the folder I always choose extract to folder option. Then manually copy the folder into the right place.

        The model looks really cool though, one thing I noticed the jumping and grunting sounds doesn't fit her voice. Was it like this in UT2004 too?

            Yes, that is what I meant about including the relative paths. Because not everyone uses it though I've developed the habit of just dragging and dropping files regardless of how someone's structured their file. I don't like fishing for them then copying them over if full path names were used instead of relative ones. In any case it's just personal preference and I have no probs with including the relative paths in the rar.

            Thank you The double jump and dodge sounds are Iron Guard Female. I believe I used the correct sounds from UT2k4 for the other snd effects though I can re-check. The amount of snd effects for UT2k4 and UT3 don't quite match up as UT3 uses more.

                  The beta was noice, but I'm glad to see she's got her mask now.
                  Has she got anims for hoverboard tricks, as I noticed she didn't in the beta?

                  edit/ Crashes for me, too. *sadface*

                    @Schotti|UTzone, coolcat22, Super-Moose:
                    Edit: Really sorry about that. I've tested it and it crashed for me as well. Apparently setting the package flags for online play on a cooked package cause UT3 to crash. When I used the version without the flags set everything worked fine. I've reverted the download link to the previous one without the flags set so please re-download it. My apologies for the inconvenience. I didn't think setting the flags would cause any probs so I did it right before I uploaded it w/o testing. I used those flags on beta 2 but it was uncooked so there were no errors. Anyone else run into this prob with their custom chars?

                    @Super-Moose:
                    I forgot to do the hoverboard tricks lol. I wish you had told me about them being missing in the betas. I'll add them when I can, they're easy to animate.

                            Thanks for telling me as I don't think I would have ever noticed. I never do tricks on the hoverboard when I play for some reason. Actually I do the spin jumps but that's it.

                            Not quite sure what a "sold bag" is but I think I get the point. When characters use hoverboards physics are blended in with the animation. The balance between physics and animation is geared toward the physics end and causes some issues with my Faraleth char. Not sure how I want to address it though. I want to adjust the setting that blends physics with animation but I don't how to setup the custom char scripts to utilize a custom animtree.

                            Thanks for pointing that out. That voice taunt only intermittently activates due do a small typo in the voice script. It was from the UTVoice_Akasha script that I copied. It'll be fixed in the next update.
