    WAR-Flare 1.1 [PC & PS3]

    Name: WAR-Flare
    Version: 1.1
Description: Small and frantic two-node Warfare map set on the underside of a giant space station. Each team starts with two Raptors each, and can access two Vipers by capturing a side node. Players travel between nodes either via bridges or numerous long-range jump pads, moving between vast open areas and cramped interiors in a heartbeat.
    Players: 18-26

    Comments:
If you downloaded the MSUC version of this map from File Planet, you should replace it with this one. Here's what's new:

    - Added an extra area on the east side of the map which provides additonal routes to/from the core areas and the prime node.
    - Updated minimap to show this and added faint lines to indicate jump pad routes.
    - Rearranged some items and weapons to suit the layout change and add a bit more fun.
    - Improved lighting and post processing, and added a little more detail.
    - Improved bot pathing.
    - Set detail levels on a number of meshes for low-end PCs.

I started this map 3 weeks before the Phase 2 deadline with the intention of making something small and simple that could be fun and look good without taking months and months to finish. It still ended up being a huge amount of hard work, but hopefully those that enjoy the occasional small and intense Warfare map will find it enjoyable.

Let me know what you think.

I love this map. The theme is unique and authentic. Good work!
Also nice to see that you still work on this map and have patched it.

Just had a quick play of this on PS3, very impressive, great visuals as always, and except for a few frame rate issues plays great too Thanks for cooking for PS3.

Thanks for the feedback so far. How bad would you say the PS3 version frame rate is compared to other maps? I realised I'd accidentally left the cull distance volume disabled when that version was cooked, so I could probably improve performance significantly by turning it back on and cutting out a few details.

Well... the frame rate drop does create a fare amount of screen tear, particularly on the walkways, between the nodes. This map definitely doesn't run as smoothly as your (awesome!) Megastructure SE map, which has a similar scale (I think?) so it might be worth a try.

By the way, love the end of match core animation sequence, very EXPLOSIVE!!!

Nice map!, I thought the ps3 version played well on my HDTV, I will play it some more to see if the frame rate is bad but the first time I played it, I didnt notice the frame drop. You did a Good Job!

I didn't say the frame rate was bad, just could be better.

Ok, I've updated the download link for PS3 players: http://files.filefront.com/WAR+Flare.../fileinfo.html

If it's re-cooked properly, it should be at least a little bit smoother now.

Thanks for the recook, it does seem to play a little smoother now, especially when using the vehicles.

Nice map, i added it to our website for download.

Do you have any objections if i were to add it to a future Warfare Mappack?
