    Name: DM-TokaraFalls2

    Version: FINAL

    Compatiblity: UT3, patch 3

    Story:

Rising towers of steel and glass, landscapes of reflection, glistening in the sunshine........landscapes called skylines and cities. Roads and highways tearing across the land, laid out across the world like straps securing the last fighting efforts of a madman restrained. Computers of silicone and copper and metals unknown to all but a select few.

These trappings of the modern and future age are a mystery here, not yet part of this serene, unspoiled bit of the world, a bit of the world where an arcane power has been set on high. On high among a myriad of giants who have reigned here for thousands of years. These giants have been here for an age undisturbed and will remain so for ages yet to come. Giants, called redwoods by others, in other cultures. The power which resides here among these majestic trees is of such a force, that gravity itself is almost held at bay by its malignant power. The people once native to this land have only recently been shunted aside and pushed out of their once prestine temple among the trees. Now this once peacefull place has become a place of violence, of blood and screams and war. Even here in this once peacefull part of the world, these quiet, these beautiful, these Tokara Falls.

    Authors Note

Tokara Forest was far and away one of my favorite levels in UT 2003-2004, and after many requests from a good friend, I've decided to break down and create a version unique among others already released. While there is nothing wrong with other versions of this map that have already been released, I personally envisioned a version that was as "organic" in nature as was possible with the meshes already provided in the UT3ed. This was never meant to be an exact remake of Tokara Forest, and wasn't intended to be. I would go so far as to say that Tokara Forest was more of an inspiration than a guideline, but the original spirit is still there. This is my second map for UT3, my first map (DM-Tokay Towers) was about as "techy" as it could be, so I've gone in a completely opposite direction this time.

Comments: Supports 6-24 players easily! Bots are fully supported and play this map well!

Credits: I would like to thank Epic for a kick-ass editor, and my bro ria.enigma who insisted that I do a remake of Tokara Forest. I would also like to thank Hourences without who's tutorials page this map would have taken a LOT longer! Lastly, I would like to thank DGUnreal for answering a few goofy questions, and Stevelois as well as Setheren for all the time they put into some really great reviews and their awsome suggestions (Thanks guys!) as well as the folks on the Epic forums, thanks gang! Thanks finally to Freaky1 & JD8 for testing dedicated server fix and replying back so quick, and sklare for suggesting the fix that worked!

Awesome map. I loved the underwater teleporter into the cave. Spooked me the first time :P

Only complaint is that the hanging leaves block my rockets. I jumped off one of the ledges tracking a guy below me and tried firing a rocket at him through it and ended up killing myself :O. Great map otherwise. Everything is very cohesive. Awesome.

              Hey Neo

The last additions are simply great

They are some things that aren't been fix (stuck on rocks on the ground, etc). But anyway, it is a keeper

THX for the credits and THX for the map

The only thing I saw is some rocks could have more details on them. I mean some are very detailed and others have less definition. Other than that, visually, the map is gorgeous Very well done, really a great map Thank you.

Thank you all very much, I do hope you guys enjoy it among the many other great DM maps out there.

@ Stevelois (& others), I do realize that the rocks collision and getting hung up on them is an issue, but other methods of blocking volumes or substituting other meshes for their collision properties simply didn't work to my personal satifaction, and the large rocks on the ground are simply too visually important to just delete. As it is a "low-grav" map, it takes very little effort to simply jump over any rock or boulder in the entire map, so I've decided to leave them in. I sincerely hope that this doesn't deter anyone from enjoying what I personally feel is a fairly playable DM map. Again, thanks all!
