  • DM-The Edge [UPDATE V1.2]

    Name: DM-The Edge
    Version:1.2
    Compatibility:UT3 V1.2

    Description:A remake of the most popular Quake 2 DM map, Q2DM1 "The Edge". Medium size map set in a strogg idustrial complex.

    Credits:myself, EPIC and Id for the original map design

    UPDATE V1.2

    -Tweaked bot paths. Now bots won't get stuck on any of the stairs.

    UPDATE V1.1

    -Tweaked bot paths, now they don't get stuck on the boxes trying to get to the armor vest, and now they actually go for the sniper rifle
    -In the megahealth room you'll find jump boots under the stairs.
    -moved around some of the spawn points
    -Replaced the stinger in the sewer and the one on the box with enforcer pickups
    -Replaced one of the flack pickups with a stinger and the other one with a shock rifle. So now there's only one flack pickup, the one outside.

            bugs:

            (ED:bug pics removed. it was more client sided then by map)

            seetruw walls everywhere

            anyone got this too?
            maybe u was a bit to entusiastic bout rls.

            also:
            everywhere just flaks plz make more ut like weapon placement.
            to many spawns directly around the lift.
            ther need to be at least 2 jumpboots to provide that ol rocketjump feel.
            & maybe bring a 2nd way to get to mega health.

            hope u fix gameplay? it gots soooooo mutch potencial!

              Which platform are you using? Is the second screenshot a framerate issue on your machine or something that happens in-map? I've seen a similar prismatic effect on DM-Meditation by [TDC] Destroyer, I think it was - he managed to fix it though. Haven't yet had the chance to upload to my PS3 & try this out ...

                I always test before release, it works and looks fine for me. I wouldn't of released it with such glaring obvious bugs as invisible walls if it didn't work fine for me first...

                As for the weapons and spawn points I'll see what I can do. I don't think I'll be adding jump boots, you can reach the megahealth just fine with the hammer jump.

                      on my 2nd loude of the edge, all fine.
                      looks like ut3 version 1.2 or my nvidea drivers r buged not ur map.
                      sry for smakin ur 1st page up, wit this buged pics. i directly cut them out.

                      q3 was all about 100m high jumpin, switchin to rail n shootin into the enemys left eye without zoomin. dont u remember?
                      ther4 jumpboots r really a must have for every non open space q3 map remake. think bout it

                            OK, good to see it's working fine. I've played Q2 only with friends in lan never online, and I've only ever used rocket jumps to get to unaccessible spots like the mega health, but anyway I've done some changes...

                            Tested it and these changes do make it more fun, I'll upload the changed version as soon as I can.
