    DM-Derailment

    This map is for the Make Something Unreal Contest. It is a Death match map that takes place at a train stop. One of the trains has derailed has causes some serious damage! Causing a fire!

    This map includes 19 custom static meshes. Here are some screen shots...

    I tired to download your DM-Derailmentfrom FilePlanet and get the error message "Site Not Approved".

    Any ideas?

      FileFront!!!! Host your **** maps on filefront!

      all of your maps look good. HOWEVER! post a beta first! You will get alot of helpful feedback.

        The lighting doesn't look perfected, there are bright areas, then places next to it are completely dark. other than that, it looks nice

              Can't say much, I'm not a professional tester and don't know graphics theory very well But I like this original idea and visuals

              I think there is not enough paths between parts of the map... Had to crouch under the car's connectings, can't jump over it and game becomes slower... Also look at


              this. If this is final version, it should be fixed. It's visible even in the match, during high jump with the pad.

                  Since I beleive this should have been posted in the beta forum i am going to treat it as one.

                  I think this has the potentiol to be a prizewinner. HOWEVER, it is unpolished and not enough attention to detail went in. The map looks good and plays well but it is not finished. There are alot of floating staticmeshes, you need a blocking volume to stop you from going miles into the sky, lots of low detail textures should be replaced, lots of missing collision, I could go on and on.

                  It is a fun map and definately a keeper for me, but it is not finished. Please do not stop working on this, post this in the beta forum and accept our help. Please.

                      As a veteran mapper I'm going to give a little advice here. Please spend more times on your maps in the future. Spend time on the lighting, make it more believable. Please check for floating meshes and mis-aligned meshes. The ability to create custom meshes is good, but it doesn't help your map if everything else is a mess. If I were you I'd spend more time studying epic stock maps and the better made user maps.

                        ZzyzX: pretty much, with a few changes depending on how much i enjoyed playing them. They all have pretty much the same problems while all still being quite fun and having a good atmosphere.

                          a sky blocking volume should be placed at this height all over the map

                          at the moment it seems a bit stupid being stopped by nothing, maybe place a train cart in here, and all of the other places like this


                          slows down the gameplay, make it so you are able to jump over these



                          as with your other map, you should have a preview and description.

                          Oh yeah, your other maps also need sky blocking volumes!

                            Because LtClifff is speaking the truth. This map looks very good over all and I really like the theme of the map. The custom content looks good too.

                            But, my 2 biggest gripes with the map that make it "not-a-keeper" are the basic layout (everything is basically on the same level) and the forced music (which doesn't fit the map's atmosphere and is actually quite depressing to listen to).

                            I am not trying to be negative as this map shows effort was put into it. But having a pretty map doesn't make it fun to play.

                              very promising map and really fun to play....but is the music a good idea ??it s very repetitive theme and after some minutes gaming it s ok...but after more...hm...i m not sure
                              i love the organisation of the map..it s a nice arena
