    UOF-CTF-UnReaLActioN / RC1

    Features, (and this is off the cuff)

    Multi-trans-portation massively variable and innovative reverse Capture The Flag! (We've had a lot of fun with this one on the LAN hopefully others might enjoy it) its a rush against bots or 2 vs 2 or 1 on 1.

    * Unique remix of Red Blossom (audio track) / <DJ - 1x>
    * Tuned for fair & balanced symmetry.
    * Custom assets galore! / textures / decals / working machinery / eye candy, etc.
    * Mad Fierce Action CTF / 1x legacy style map.
    * Should have a map and tactical layout (you might get lost at first, but grab the flag and run the long way / drop down / turn and reverse though the bottom teleporter when your feet hit the ground dodge! & CAP IT FAST! or ....)
    * Run the gamut in through the middle and blast your way to victory!

    Completed in 2012, sorry it took me so long to finally upload, but with some critique and input I'll polish it and publish it! - I'd also like to release the CTF-Maul map i've had sitting on my hard-drive. - Sorry for lagging, i've had a tough busy year. ((actually a few back to back - but that my friends is another story))

      Listening to Red Blossom remix as I post

      This map is so very much fun. We have tested the He!! out of it. You've heard the saying quick and dirty..
      well the game-play on this map is quick and clean. Not to mention it is very nice to look at. I would suggest learning the tricks with the teleporters before you try to play to competitively.

        OMFG!!!!! No way - it is so incredibly good to hear from you old friend! i've missed ya so much!

        BTW, Gussie is actually a chick and she is my wife <<I've never talked about that before, - I guess the cat is out of the bag now>> - Gussie/Thank you for paying attention to my efforts, especially considering how much we're into UT99 / UT2kX / UT3 / UT>? - Nothing compares to this awesome series and this massively cool community. Great to have at least uploaded this, hopefully some hardcore CTF player will get some fast frantic fun action out it. And thank you for all the solid hours of testing and trouble shooting G!

          what a nice map bro, here i realise how i miss new maps from you, ur style is a pure kill and give the feeling of stock maps!wow
          it s near perfection to me visually so i ll not spend too much time on this: sounds, effects ,custom materials are top notch
          the only lil detail i didnt like was this spot:
          i didnt understand why u made thoses blocks floating instead of pasting em on the tube

          about the gameplay....omg!...i was first completly lost like a ball in a flipper, red arrows pointing the blue flag, respawned near the ennemy flag...."always listen to your wife" said the voice....i ll listen to yours this time and i ll take the time to learn the map first haha




          though i must say the the layout is very fun and i enjoyed playing it a lot...got my **** badly kicked by competent bots....this normally dont happen....buhuhuhuhuhuh +.+

          nice job mate, i hope theses few lines can help you for the final...keep up the good work

            Wow, thought we'd lost ya for a bit there. Totally understand tho - gettin' my a$$ beaten by RL myself right now. Gussie is your wife?? That is totally awesome! My wife played some 99 back in the day but now she gets motion sickness from games . By the way, I have a new server up and running. Even Uncle B joined for some action!

              Hey bro

              So after all that time waiting for this map, I must say it will be another keeper when reaching the final. Really love all the features you put into it ! All the custom content & the mix of different theme (grungy, clean, sc-fi, etc) is very nice. Habitually, mixed up all the stock assets doesn't work well, it look confuse, like a spaghetti map BUT I must say your the only mapper that is able to mix all stock assets with custom stuff to build a map that look good & unique, bravo bro !!!

              Gameplay is very fast, layout is super, item placement is fine too. I also like the lighting but it need more work imho. Sounds seem ok for the most part. So I have some suggestions to make and all of them are rather small stuff.

              Yellow = lighting on the ceiling is almost none. Rise up your skylight a little (if you have one of course). Black ceiling doesn't look natural & doesn't show all the nice details at all, use a low brightness. See my lighting tut at my blog for more details.
              Orange = mesh lighting lightmap adjustement.

              Yellow = This is where flow is getting hurt. Most of the walls in your map need a BV so flow remain fluid. You can see through many meshes when your walking close to a wall & in many places you get stuck by the mesh collision model. It need a BV. Take is easy & go with straight line. Set the mesh to block weapon only.
              Also, the sound actor need a bit more radius, it cut to close to the 'generator'.

              Yellow = BV.
              Orange = Neons should cast more radius and more brightness around.

              Some bricks are floating above the ground, like 4 uus.

              While I like it, gameplay wise, I don't understand the purpose of this room ? Why players would go there ? Anyway, the pp is great but it's a bit above the bio pool as seen in yellow while the top is at the red line. It need to be lowered a bit.
              It would be also cool to ear the bio for more far away (add the feeling that you approach the room).

              The mesh collision model cover the top so players are staying on top of the bio instead of falling into the pool like the surrounding of the mesh.

              Blue = need trimming.

              Yellow = BV.
              Red = to much aggressive culling, need to reduce the value a tad.
              Blue = collision on stuff on the ground should block weapon only.

              So I'm happy you where able to resolve your issues mentioned on your UOF private thread. The map is really great & I like it a lot. You've made a great job once again. My feedback is rather on BV & small stuff since others as already comments on stuff that I do agree with them so I don't need to repeat myself.

                Just checking in bro's. - Glad you guys are still here! - Makes me very happy to get back to one of my favorite hobbies.

                3 day weekend and I have a little spare time! -

                P.S. Did anyone like the Red Blossom remix? - & does it fit the map? I almost used Forgone Destruction or FireBR, because t hey fit the furious pace of the map but hopefully I was on the money with this much at least.

                  Had a couple of runs in 2vs2 & it was massacre for me LOL. I lost all the time so bot pathing is very good then haha !

                  Gameplay is **** fast & as already mention, I love your custom stuff

                  About the music, it fit's well imo
