    DM-Venician Rush [NEW!!!][PC&PS3]

    Name: DM-Venician Rush
    Version: Beta 1.0
    Compatibility: UT3 + patch 5
    Description: In the heart of the now older city with its water canals, lies a few blocks of businesses and factories. Although its past its prime, this area still attracts some good crowds when it comes to Unreal Tournament.
    Comments: Although this DM map has the same setting as my CTF map with the same name, the map is totally different: More buildings are now accesable, some have been moved, other removed. It now has less water, and getting out is easier. PLEASE NOTE: although its called Venician, the setting is not in Venice! It refers more to the water canals.

      I like this map, but I am frustrated because I want to access more of the roofs. We use low gravity on our server and I find myself wanting to jump up on the roof and am blocked. However, that is a personal preference and I'm just mentioning it in case there are other out there who feel the same.

          mmm, accessing the roofs will let you see things that your not suppose to see (like that a building is actually just a wall!). To make the roofs playble, I'll have to build a lot more into the map.

          if it really becomes an issue, I might look at changing it, but not at the moment, soz, my time is taken up by my other project at the moment. Exept maybe the building with the Flakcannon, it should be easy to make its roof playable.

            That's OK. It is a cool map without that, just thought I'd ask. Keep up the good work.

                You know, I keep thinking about it, it might be a good idea to make the two big building in the middle playable ontop, with the building holding the flackcannon, that should ad some more z-acis play to the map. Its still beta, so I could still change it

                  Plumb near froze my PS3 at the loading screen, didn't seem to want to load the map. That's all right, I'll go along with the PC version instead, if that's what it so takes.

                    Strange. But since I dont have a PS3, I cant test it. If anyone else have the same problem, or have some info on the reason, pls let me know.

                      Sorry Duk3, don't know what causes it. The original CTF-Venician Rush works perfectly on my PS3 though, so maybe something went strange in the cooking ... ?

                      euchreplayer23 is the guru of PS3 cooking, maybe he'd be able to offer some advice ...

                        Whoops, no it doesn't, sorry - CTF-Venician Rush actually locks up my PS3 It was the beta of the CTF version that works fine on my PS3

                        I notice your PS3 package contains the folder structure PS3\SAVEDATA\BLUS30086-MODIMPORT - did you create that & drop the userdata.jam file into it? If not, could it be that you're using an older version of the PS3 Mod Tools? It's been a while since UnrealFrontEnd created that folder structure itself. Can't verify as my PC's not up to running UFE, but I've seen some posts which would seem to indicate that the later version of the tools doesn't have the facility to choose between US & European versions of the game in UFE.

                        Latest version of the tools (according to UDN) are here ...

                          mmm, Think I'll just recook and upload it again. But that will be only during the weekend.

                          Also I'm not sure if the ps3 maps can use imported materials? Cause come to think of it, this is my first map to use materials that I imported into UT3. Either that, or I'll check out the new version of the tools.

                            Did the beta of CTF-Venician Rush have imported materials? If so, then yes, I guess the PS3 can handle them, because that played fine on my PS3
