Name: DM/CTF-GRD-Obert
Version: Beta 1
Compatibility: Cooked with 2.1 (Titan pack for Greed version)
Description: This map is inspired from the old classic arcade game "Q*bert". Originally, I thought it would be a fun "king of the hill" style map for the Greed game type, though it plays well in DM.
I may make a CTF version, if requested. I think having the map mirrored so it's half of "pyramid" would work best. You have to go up, then down to get the flag, then return. Suggestions are welcomed.
Comments:
I wanted this to feel like you were in the arcade game. I had to make the blocks a non-square shape for the sake of game play. I also plan on having different jump pads.
I have a simple Kismet sequence that changes the color of the floor when you are walking on it. I did this to include that element of the original game, so it gives a bit more contrast to the floors, and it add an additional layer of strategy, especially since it's a very simple layout. If you find this distracting, let me know.
Credits: Diesalot (Beta testing and more beta testing, (Epic (the usual stuff), Gottlieb's (makes of the original game), and myself so far.
