Ut3 user maps & mods browser [First release]

Name: Ut3 user maps & mods browser
    Version: 0.1a
    Compatibility: PC
Description: The result of using my free time doing something else besides posting nonsense and trolling the general forum

The goal has been creating a better way to access the content, keep it visible even if it's on the 27438439th page of the forum, while getting some download and installation hassle out of the way. The utility includes:
    - Filtering Content: platform, download status, optional beta forum, text entry to search within 1st post, author, content type and thread title
    - Quick view: Panes showing cached post for quick navigation (with auto-update), downloaded files, readme display
    - Download: collecting links from forum, sort by user convenience. Disable flash and some animated ads, assigns download folder automatically
    - Installation PC: Selection of custom folder, build folder structure and extraction to correct location
    - Installation PS3: Copy or extraction of 'userdata.jam' file to removable drive, creates file describing content

    Comments:
    - Please read the included files "help.html" with some basic documentation and "bugs-0.1.rtf" to know what to expect.

Installation: Just extract the archive and run "ut3usermods.exe"

Credits: Epic Games, the content creation community, free programming tools (Python, wxWidgets, wxPython, boa-constructor and py2exe), Igor Pavlov for 7z.exe, Alexander Roshal for unrar.exe. Bclagge and Sanch3z for their kind permission of using their work to illustrate the software.

np, I just had to figure out how far could I go It's a pain sometimes because it had to experiment with lots of subjective stuff, diversity of posts and archives, "best effort" approaches, dynamic changes that happen outside of the program and are out of control. There is no such thing as documentation or method to do this Then add multi-threading, timers, UI code, http connections, cache management, parse and generate html, interfacing with Internet Explorer windows, etc... Not much excitement or gratification with this kind of code.

Expect a somewhat mature version in 2 or 3 weeks. I just needed to release because the complexity was getting out of control to be done on free time by one guy, without feedback , guidance or criticism.

Nice that you guys liked the effort Please don't let yourselves be disapointed if something goes wrong or gives you a bad first impression (i.e. crashes, stupid bugs). I intended to improve it more before releasing, but I was just becoming exhausted, I'm very sorry. I documented some bugs and I know what can be fixed or worked around, I just need some time and peace of mind. And then, early guidance and feedback is great

Considering so many UT users are unaware that custom content is even available, I think this is a fantastic idea. Good work Benefica, only wish epic had of included it in the game...... lol

Awesome. Having to go through the forums pages looking for threads tagged with what you're looking for is annoying. I keep wanting to ask why it's not possible to sort forum posts by what they are tagged as. Sometimes I just want to see all the CTF maps, or all the characters. But I have to go through all the pages to find them.

Something seems to have happened with the UT3 content creators that I haven't noticed with content creators for other games. They don't distribute their content very well. Too many people post it on the forums and that's it. Sites like Skin City are filled with content from other games. But when you search for Ut3 stuff, there's almost nothing. All the mod hosting sites are like this. There's almost no Ut3 content on them.

                      Why?

I have noticed the same... kind of annoying. At least we dont have to google anymore now (sarcasm).

Needed to make a quick fix, re-uploaded. With luck I'll have time and peace of mind to pick up this project, the v0.1 will have to do for now I guess.

Edit: oops, I forgot to distribute the source code previously, now it's a separate zip

This is an awesome tool! A few days ago I was looking for a way to sort content exactly how it is arranged here. Thanks for sharing and definitely looking forward to future releases.
