    Lightning Tank

    This hover tank specializes in guerilla warfare. It is built for sniping, driveby attacks and evading pursuit.

    Prototype preface
    XS prototypes are built to see if certain concepts work as well in practice as they look on paper, to see if our ideas can be realized and whether they are fun. This thread is meant to gather feedback and suggestions. Please post your thoughts and crazy ideas!

    Features

    Still a bit rough around the edges... but it's a start. The ball lightning is fairly decent.
    • Hovercraft. Fast, but not as agile as the Manta.
    • Lightning cannon and ball lightning emitter weapon systems.
    • Both weapon systems are aimed backwards to enable a faster getaway.
    • Press Fire to fire the selected weapon system.
    • Press Altfire to switch weapon systems.
    • The lightning cannon is essentially a vehicular version of the handheld UT2004 Lightning Gun; it fires lightning bolts (that are supposed to be highly accurate).
    • The ball lightning emitter drops a ball lightning that zaps anything close by. The ball lightning inherits some of the momentum of the craft, so if you are stationary it'll be stationary, but if you go really fast it'll travel quite some distance.
    • Ball lightning follows the contours of terrain.
    • Switching to the lightning cannon automatically engages a zoom scope.
    • There is an intermediate transition step when switching to and from the rear camera to reduce disorientation; while holding down Altfire, you will view the vehicle from the front. Releasing Altfire will either enable the scope or switch back to the regular camera, depending on where you came from.
    • Controls are reversed for easier handling when the camera is reversed.
    Known issues
    • The lightning cannon's aim is still a bit ****.
    Planned features
    • Press Jump to engage in limited flight.
    • Maybe press Crouch to zap all things nearby. This would destroy incoming AVRiL rockets.
    • Maybe lightning bolts chain to nearby targets.

          You may have to make the tank a little more menacing than the UT2004 version, the ball lightning is a lot scarier than before

            Highlights:
            • Better rear camera support; zoom, scope, transitional step when switching camera modes, slightly better aim.
            • Ball lightning no longer self-destructs half the time it's spawned.

              why are the files formated differently, if you know what I mean
              in this vehicle and the obstructor?

                You could mean many different things and I'm not going to waste my time guessing. Please be specific.

                  Ok sorry, I'll try again,

                  Before the download just had one ".u" file (eg. XS_LightningTank.u).
                  Now you have a "XS_Base.u" file and a ".u" file which is the name of the vehicle.
                  What do i do with the multiple "XS_Base.u" files?

                    Just use the latest version of XS_Base.u.
