FINALY!!!
I have been waiting for the UT2k4 liightning gun. But it needs some changes. Few suggestions:
- gun model is bit small (both: 1st and 3rd person model too)
- also the model is too boxy
- firerate is too fast, needs to increase cooldown
- also hope that the final version will have the blue light
Thats my oppinion. There is lot of work on this.. but.. its only a beta release... So good luck! I am looking forward to this one!!!!

wow finally you got the original mesh nice work i been testing the old version but this one is far better, and i disagree with desan the orange beam look better xD the blue one its on lighting gun from ONS2.0 gametype and it doesnt look as good as this one nice job

im glad you guys like it as for the mesh being too boxy thats the way that mesh is in ut2004 that mesh was more back and to the right in 1st person. as for the fire rate i think it feels fine but if i figure out how to make it configurable then you can adjust it to your style.

some feedback

i been testing and my personal feedback is....

1 - Fire rate a bit too fast, as a sniper type gun should have a longer fire rate
2 - yup you need to pull bak a little bit the mesh is 1st person
3 - The mesh look a little small
4 - i wasnt able to make a headshot, however i got the headhunter award
5 - 3 shots to kill o_O should be like one or two
6 - hope you improve the light core effect in 1st person view
7 - and finally hope to see some orage effects when you shot someone in future releases, right now when you shot someone it seems like it was with a shock rifle

curious stuff bots die in a very funny way with this

you need to tweak some stuff but yeah its pretty fun to play with this great job men keep it going

i just added this to beta 2 that hit effect will go off when you hit the head of the character i still need to make it smaller plus it also goes off when you hit a vehicle

the new hit effect looks nice, but a bit overdone though...
maybe you could scale it down a bit, or add less thunder...
btw: have you thought of making a custom weapon icon?

You might want to change the description of the weapon in the ini since "For DM/TDM/Duel Only "Replaces all weapons for Lighting Gun Arena GamePlay"" seems to work better for LightingGun_2k4_Arena UTUIDataProvider_Mutator instead.
And shouldn't it be LightningGun, not LightingGun?
Does it do the arcs to others?
