This thread has been replaced by the Release Candidate thread http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=684699

    Description
MapMixer is designed to give you more control over the way you launch and manage your game session in UT3. At its core it works as a Mutator that hooks into the game and provides the management operations, however, it is much more. It provides its own replacement for the UT3 Main Menu, which gives you direct access to the MapMixer options, as well as other parts of the game. MapMixer works in standalone or server environments.

The core philosophy of MapMixer is this: Each match you play should not be confined by one set of parameters for the Session. In other words, each match should contain its own individual settings, such as Game Type, Map, Rules, Mutators, Player Counts and Bots.

Another of its core concepts is randomisation. You can randomise the setup of your matches, so each match is a little unpredictable. For example, maybe you’d like the Goal Score for Deathmatch to be a random value between 30 and 50, or perhaps you’d like a 5% chance that the Big Head Mutator is enabled.

Each Gametype in MapMixer is treated separately, each with its own set of parameters. Maps can have their own default options, either globally or for a specific Gametype. For example, you may like a particular Map to always appear with a certain Mutator or perhaps you’d like to alter the recommended Player Counts for a specific Map across different Gametypes.

MapMixer allows you customise common settings and easily switch between configurations. You can create Lists of Settings for Rules and Mutators. Use the Map List Editor to specify what maps you want to play and customise them individually, or alternatively let MapMixer create your Session Map List by telling it what Map Sources to use and how to select from them.

There's an in-game Client Menu, that lets each player individualise parts of their in-game experience.

            Bugs:

Character Preview window is broken. So can't select own character atm.

When you press z in a Listen Server match your name will be 'z'. This will force you to change your name. If you press z again afterwards your current name will display correctly and you won't have to re-enter it. Until the next time you play.
            -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feels good to be able to press escape again after match ends to go back to the scoreboard/map...

Same problem... a part from this I haven't encountered yet other bugs.

If you are referring to the "Customize" button in the player preferences then this is normal behaviour. The actual supported method of creating a new character or editing the current one is from the Main Menu: "Character->New Character/Edit Character". More information about this can be obtained in this thread.

This is most likely because the Player Alias Edit Box has the focus when this menu opens and your name gets replaced with 'zzzz.....', so when you close the menu, MapMixer thinks you were trying to change your player alias. I had thought I'd stopped the Edit Box from getting the focus when the menu opens but I'll have another look.

This looks amazeing! I have to wonder though it looks like I can configure and create my own bots?

I had a stability problem with UT3 but its turned into a big HAD as this seems to fix it and no more odd crashes when I dont want them.

Sound settings are a little iffy. It dosent seem to keep them but i'm not haveing any problem with my player settings nor my keys or vidio settings.

                    EDIT: Adding comments.

I'm looking for a working gametype voting system for my clans server. We have only one UT3 server and want to be able to host several votable gametypes each with their own set of rules and mutators. We have tried two voting programs to date, BiaVote and UTComp3.

BiaVote has some issues and development has apparently stopped on that project. UTComp3 is promising but it has a nasty bug that carries over mutators from one gametype to the next creating a mess of errors in the server log file growing it exponentially to ungodly sizes. I'm not sure if Mapmixer is what I'm looking for but at first glance it looks like it might be something to look at for what I'm trying to do. Since I know very little about Mapmixer my question is - will Mapmixer do what I describe above and allow our servers guests to vote for gametypes?

Thank for the tip, now it works correctly . I think you should remove the "Customize Player" considering that it is broken.

The MM Faction Editor will let you 'Clone' existing bots, however at this stage, any visual customisations will have to be done via an ini file, although the UI allows you to customise AI Attributes.

MM simply links to the standard UT3 menus for all UT3 settings, as there is some native coding in a few of them that I haven't worked around yet. If you are having problems with settings not being kept then I would make sure you have a valid login status.

A Map Voting system is designated for version 3.1 and is not part of the initial 3.00 release. MM takes full control over the session map list, however it does have code to take into account externally invoked map switches, which means it should in theory allow for external Map Voters to instigate a map switch, although this has yet to go through any rigorous testing.

MM has an internal Manual Map Source Switch mode, which allows admins to switch between MM Map Lists, but no voting :< (Remembering that a MM Map List can contain any number of different gametypes or all the same, whatever.)
