    Description:

    INVERT
THE WOLRD IS IN YOUR HANDS

    CONCEPT
The player has the ability to turn the world on its head 180* at any time and must explore the environments using this ability to reach the goal at the end of each level

The objective is to rotate the world in key areas so that paths are both created and broken to advance to new areas previously unreachable.

There can be 100 solutions to a level or just 1 in others; always providing a challenge and making the player think before using the ability.

Don’t think this is going to be easy, rotating the world in open locations will cause your player to fall large distances and possibly to they’re death, in the later levels you will need to not only make death deifying leaps but also time these with flipping the world in a leap of faith type style.

Environments range vastly from interior testing laboratories to huge industrial complexes and even exteriors.

    FEATURES
    • Rotate the World at Will
    • Challenging Environmental Puzzles
    • Secret Locations and Hidden Content
    • All Scripting is done in Kismet and requires no Patches/Updates/Installations
    • Extremely Small File Size (making use of UT3s existing assets)
    • UT3 Quality Visuals
    • In-Game Tutorial Level
    • Simply Download Levels and play in DM mode with 0 bots

    SUMMERY
So there you have it, a completely new game simply from downloading a single level and playing it in Death Match mode with no bots.
There are endless possibilities for interesting and challenging levels (not to mention some levels I have planned that will really mind f**k you)
I don’t have a lot of spare time right and wanted to make something not only unique, but also extremely quick and easy with no code or art requirements so that people from the community can add to the library of levels simply by copying over my kismet code (I will produce a tutorial and template level for you guys to create your own levels with the release of the game)

I only began work on this a few nights ago and no more than 6 hours has gone into it so far but below you’ll be happy to find a link to the level to play for yourselves along with a you tube video (for those that need convincing to play for themselves) and some screen shots of the very first tutorial level.

If I get positive feedback from this ill design and make a game out of it (I only made it to see if I could) and of course I’m more than happy to include any ideas you guys have so if you have an idea you think will be cool and you’ll like to see in the finish product (yes it will be a full single player campaign + story, who knows maybe even a level release every month to keep you guys happy (yea just like all the other failed episodic games :P)

Hope you enjoy the (proof of concept) demo and sorry in advance for how short it is ^^ just getting it out there and hope you can realise the potential for this game.

This looks like it has potential. What if you could rotate the world 90 degrees in either direction? It seems like that would increase the difficulty considerably. Great idea, not bad for a few hours work!

haha this has been said a few times from my friends. i originally wanted to "flip" the world, but had to settle for rotating, its quite a bit of work to get a fully fledged level working just on 2 axis (let alone designing one) (not like this demo room, i mean a proper functioning level with switches/events and such) adding another 4 to make 6 possible axis although it sounds like a good idea would be a complete nightmare to implement (at least how i have done just alone in kismet with no code) but saying that im kinda tempted at giving that a go now lol... although just from thinking about it its atleast 3 times the amount of work as just this, and thats without thinking about any possible complications that im .. er.. kinda thinking about now lol ^^

Very cool, but short level. Reminds me of "blast chamber" on the Playstation. Keep the levels coming, acid floors or spikes would be cool. You could "do" buttons that make ramps and platforms (needed to reach certain areas). How did you do this in kismet though, could you share so others could do?

thanks for the suggestions ^^ i have a few of my own along similar lines, for example pushing a physics block around the map, flipping it to get it to a loaction so you can ***** (where *** is something interesting lol) , or water volumes, physical boulders/hazzards /timed hazzards along with flipping the world, timed door/switch puzzles so you have to run/flip the world quick to get out etc, hidden/secret areas that are realll ahrd to get to, jump flips, i dunno theres a few fun things you can do with it

just trying to think up a good single player campaign and make a proper game out of it rather than a bunch of random levels ^^ but all i can think of is something along the lines of portal and dont wana rip them off

glad theres some positive feedback about it though

labyrynth cube...very frustrating...worse than that old table game where you try to move the ball around the maze...with two knobs.

but i like the look of this... or what if it was a pickup...the combat applications could be disasterous...

Nice job, maybe also consider making this acessible as a custom gametype instead of having to choose DM with 0 bots etc. This mod has awesome potential.

thanks, i may consider doing this as the reason i didnt was purely to see if it was possible without code so ppl cold download, literally 1 file (minus the ini.. but you dont "NEED" that file ^^)

but as ill probably be streaming levels for the final product , hense more files this might be a good idea to keep it cleaner

I've got to agree as well. A custom gametype would do wonders for your work - and the potential of this mod and resulting levels would be amazing!!!

                        [ * * * * * ] 5 stars for the concept and implementation...very cool!

dude, that was just GREAT. i loved the idea, and i think someone should make a separated gametype for it. I even tried making my own level by looking how you did yours (wish was a bit scaring the first time i opened kismet), but i got it working!! i have to say i found a bit complicated but it's not THAT hard to do...
I would love to try to make other levels for this, i am just not a very skilled mapper, but i would like to try!

i have tidied up the kismet considerably since the release of this, if you would like the template level just send us a PM and ill throw it your way.

just has 4 sections where you need to select all of your objects and add to the list .. and everything should just work from that.

                            Initial Lights
                            Flipped Lights
                            Initial Statics
                            Flipped Statics

then it should update everything else it needs to.

                            glad you like it

currently throwing a few test levels together (when i have time) to find out what works/why to come up with some cool levels for you guys

hey guys sorry for the complete lack of updates, as stated earlier i am fairly busy (work 8+ hours a day, muay thai kickboxing, judo, systema, *cough* dance .. yea yea and then the rest of my time im pretty much asleep of drunk and failing miserably to get laid (but its good fun and thats all that counts huh... well... i keep telling myself)

but alas.... i have come up with a rough outline and flow for a small game (ripping off portal kinda cos... it works, well not ripping off so much as just using the gameplay flow and simplistic art style) with some additions and of course.. a err.. different game but anywho...

i will be looking to form a small team (dont want anyone like me on the team whos too busy to work on it!!! :P) to do some very simple code changes (so it is a mod) and some level designers / prototype...rs to come up with cool simplisitic/arty levels to blow your mind ^^

so if you got a few hours spare to dedicate to something new/experimental or just wana have a go give us a shout and ill throw the template level your way to get some basic greybox levels together to find out what works and what doesnt, and more importantly, why!

you know where the PM button is if your interested and sorry in advance if i go awol, i will be back! .... with cookies!... maybe
