    CTF-Eternity [Beta1][PC & PS3][Pics & Download]

    I hope everyone likes this new map I did here

    This is gears inspired map, taking place in some ancient ruins covered by alot of greenery. The theme is mostly iron, stone, foliage. Multiple paths to the flag but only one way out when you get there. I hope everybody enjoys this.

    Credits: Thanks to Kirby for helping me test this out.

      ##### Note to PS3 users - you MUST change the name of the file to "USERDATA.JAM" after downloading, then it will install fine. This is a Filefront issue, just take out the numbers.

          i know you're going for the GoW look, but i'd definitely tone the lighting down a bit.....it's too much on the eyes after few minutes of playing. otherwise plays just fine!


          that asian rail just does not look right there.

          i'd put some kind of a rail or bushes all the way around the flag base. does not look right with only blocking volume there.

          that texture just doesn't feel right there. maybe you can run the foliage all the way around, i think it will give it a nicer feel.

              Lighting is crucial. I thought those screens were taken in the editor in unlit mode. If you made the light less uniform, you could actually use it to emphasize the atmosphere of the map.

                OK, here goes... I agree with the flag base needing a railing or something, it looks like I should be able to walk on the lawn, It suprised me I could'nt, so railing, or let people walk on the lawn. Maybe get rid of the lawn, looks like you could walk on it, I might even try to jump a railing and die, and I'd be annoyed. Maybe even a railing and you can walk on the lawn, you could stick a pickup there. The area after the flag room, where you have a transition "room" between the two hallways, all seems well, including the vegetation on the walls between the columns. However, down the hallways, where you exit it, both sides, you can walk through the trees, also the vegetation is too far away from the walls or something, you can walk thrrough it and turn and see it sideways, including the shorter bushes around the stairs. Same with the vegetation up by the shield belt and invisible. The same problem with the rooms in the corners where where the stairs go down and you are headed to the enemy flagroom, right after you cut thru the middle and turn outside. I'm not sure what the technical term is, snug them up to the walls or something. The layout is at once very simple and also very confusing. I kept getting turned around. If thats on purpose, all is well, otherwise add blue/red arrows, that's a gameplay issue, your call. I see what that guy means about the lighting, almost all betas need better lighting though, if I was you I would mess around with it a little. It looks like there is no air or something. Also, is there only the two paths, mirrors of each other? I'm only asking because that was all I found. Didn't see any higher/lower paths. And you might want to add more spawn points, maybe on the grass? Grabbing the flag I killed the same dudes over and over til they got me, always in that small square area. But I don't think I want them waiting outside the only exit either.... So thats it, it's hard to win, it's really fun to play, and confusing as hell even though it's a pretty simple shape really. I liked it. The Bot pathing seemed pretty good too, I played me and them, 4v4, I couldn't win because of the spawning thing, and they couldn't win either, at one point I was standing in thier room GODLIKE and still couldnt get out of there with it. Bots were on experienced. Cool map!
