    CTF-TempleTrial RC1! - Final suggestions before cook -

    I will be cooking the final of this really soon, but I want to hear if theres anything Ive missed, bugs and such.

      Needs more work

      No No No - don't resize the sky mesh - it is giant for a reason and just looks stupid and unrealistic when it is so small.

      Put some work in on the surrounding environment - a map isn't just about what you actually play in, its about the whole location and how its situated with a much larger environment.

      For example: lower the density of the fog and a lot further down add a valley with water, have a few giant mountains around with large waterfalls and a few emitters creating large areas of mist. This would give a reason for the misty fog other than clouds, and with the lack of snow it wouldn't be above the cloud line anyway. Also it requires some music and more importantly some decent lighting. Try making it darker inside so it looks as though it is only lit by the lanterns.

      Also the flags are a little difficult to get and are floating - put them infront of the gong stand, I just think it would look more realistic that way.

      I will grant you the map is playable and has a lot of potential (good layout) but is nowhere near finished in my opinion. I do not mean to sound harsh but it definately needs more work, and if you try and add like I have suggested I seriously think it would improve it.

        This version is to check for bugs and other major layout problems.

        The flags are supposed to be floating tho.

          Lol just putting this as a joke to your previous comment but seriously now.

          I have played it properly now and it plays well. It becomes a bit flak heavy at times so maybe the locations of the weapons should be reorganised. Also there isn't a need for as many jump pads as you have. Here is a suggestion:

          In the screenshot above you should remove the jump pads just below that hole on both sides of the map (so all four). There is translocator in CTF so it is not needed and does not limit the return of the flag. I think it would add an extra gameplay element to the map of tactical ambushing.

            The initial layout is 100%.

            Im not sure about removing those jump pads tho, not yet.

            But yes.
            The map plays extremely well and just the way I want it to.

            The flag area tends to get bombarded by flak cannons, but I think its alot of fun. the flak is the most efficient weapon for defending and attacking camping players at the flag.

            Would be fun to actually get to playtest this on a server with skilled players.

              Well I was finding that it wasn't the flag area that got flaked so much - it was the central area that became a flak warzone to the extent you couldn't walk without a bit of flak hitting you lol.

                Oh.
                Never experienced that.
                But I guess thats what I get for playing VS bots. :/

                This is why the map aint final yet.
                I want to be able test it.

                    I tested this map on one server community (VCTF) and in my pc.
                    A simple and nice map, no bug, and on the serveris good.
                    Very good job Vitae, be continued...

                      I think I have all the bugs squished.
                      All that is left if I decide to change anything would be the looks of the map. Perhaps breaking up some of that tiling in the roof/floors with some meshes.
