      That's not intentional, it's a bug in UT3. The icon shown in a weapon slot is always that of the highest priority weapon in that slot instead of the one you're holding. That means that if you have only the Deployer then you get the right icon, if you also hold the Redeemer then it will show the Redeemer icon, and if you have the Avril then that overrides the Redeemer icon too.

        I don't think the Pulse-to-Link Converter can fire through the Shield.

          It seems that I broke the shield upgrade (thanks to 2B=M for spotting that), so I quickly updated to beta 8. There are only two changes altogether:

          * Fixed Deployer crosshair with "simple crosshairs" turned on.
          * Reverted a bug introduced in beta 7 that prevented instant-hit weapons from firing through the shield (Minigun, Pulse-to-Link Converter).

            Sorry, I forgot to take a look at that, I will do it for the next version.
            I noticed in the ini's that there are weapons priority settings. Can I set it to have the deployer a higher priority than the deemer or would that fix the issue?

              Something else I was wondering about. When you are upgrading a sentinal that already has shields in place you have to get inside the shield to make the upgrade. Of course I haven't tried it since you updated yesterday so maybe that was fixed.

                I tested that, and unfortunately it doesn't fix it. I can't be sure exactly what's going on because the drawing of the weapon bar is all in "native" code that isn't available to the public, but I think it's probably done by the property GroupWeight, which isn't configurable via ini file.

                That is by design. It is often complained about though, so I might consider changing it at some point.

                  Well if you designed it so you have to get inside the shield to upgrade then so be it. I'm not complaining at all. I think this is a very cool mute, just wasn't sure if it was supposed to be like that.

                      I love these sentinels. Though I managed to crash the game with 4 sentinels shooting at hordes of bots; 2 minigun sentinels and 2 shock lance ones.

                        This sounds really sweet. I loved the Sentinel for 2k4 and 2k3, and I imagine this one will be just as good. I've already downloaded it and am waiting to install.

                          I found something, it's probably my settings but don't know. I was playing on our clan server this morning which has votable gametypes via UTComp3. We have IG-CTF as one of those gametypes and this is one of the gametypes on our server that has the sentinals installed on it. The IG gun we use is the {AW}InstaGib rifle. I selected that gametype and the server disconnected me which is not usual. I reconnected with no trouble and entered the game to find that the sentinal pickups were all in place but there was no deployer to use them with. I'm sure I have something set wrong but I'll be damned if I know what it is. Feel free to drop by our server and test it out to see what I'm talking about. Maybe you will have an idea of something I missed. The addy for our server is in my sig line. To change gametypes just hit F5 in-game and there is a drop down menu bar that lets you pick gametypes. If you check it out try VCTF then IG-CTF to see the difference.

                          I suppose the IG mutator removes all other weapon types or something stupid like that but I have no clue.

                            If it crashes again, please send me the log file (\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Logs\Launch.log), and mention any details that may help (version of the mutator(s), version of UT3 etc).

                            Ok, I'll see if I can work out what's going on there. It is extremely likely that the problem is due to the IG mutator removing all weapons in some way. You might be able to work around the issue by making sure that the Sentinel mutator is added after the IG mutator.

                              Will do, but it has only happened that one time so far. I almost always use the sentinels when playing so I will bump into it again at some point.

                              Should I perhaps try to do extreme sentinel setups? If this is a problem on the sentinels' behalf, making the action more intense will increase the chances of hitting the bug.

                                dunno when you added it, if it came with the gear upgrade mutator, or this one directly, as i didn't see that one before, but...the angle limitation upgrade is AWESOME =)
                                ...finally you can place your turret near a entrance, and say "Through THAT DOOR comes the enemy!!" ...and it won't look away =3 sweet.
