              what does that question have to do with this sentinel?

              And LOVE the mini-guns...sure, it's a placeholder model, but pretty kickass atm...wonder how the final product looks like, with animations like spinning barrels and what-not =D

                The fixed version should be a few bytes different in size. You can check by equipping a Sentinel with a Disturber and seeing if it works (the broken version would only fire once and then go idle forever).

                  Mr. Evil, I must say this is one of the most enjoyable mutators I've come across in a while. It adds an enormous amount of depth to the game -- some RTS elements on top of the usual static-map mayhem.

                  While I can't code much for UT3 at the moment, there are some parallels with this and some other base code I've been working on. If possible, I'm going to make my stuff as "compatible" with the Sentinels as possible (that is, augment / complement what you've released without using your code). Again, not much time to discuss now, but I'd love to hear your reflections later.

                      I know a large proportion of UT fans are also pyromaniacs, so here's a gratuitous screenshot of the new flamethrower:

                        are the flames on the ground just visual, or do they still do some damage to anyone who steps into them?

                        can't wait for the next version, since UT3 has smaller architecture, a flamethrower will be more effective than a minigun. (Didn't use flamethrower alot in UT2k4, because of it's range)

                          The flame consists of a stream of projectiles with emitters attached, so the damaging area should match the visuals reasonably closely. Particles don't always bounce around in exactly the same way as their parent projectiles, but they don't stray very far.

                          The flames on the ground aren't stuck there; it's simulating a gas fueled flamethrower rather than a liquid fueled one, as that's just easier.

                          The range is increased a bit in the new version. Part of the reason it was so short in UT2004 was that it couldn't handle too many translucent particles at once without a massive performance hit. UT3 seems to be much better at doing that, so it's possible to have more particles going at once, which can make a longer flame and still look nice.

                              uhmmm...or maybe THAT was the reason why i didn't use flamethrower sentinels back then XD bad computer, lots of particles...boom.

                                Here's the source code for beta 3: Sentinel_UT3_v1.0beta3_source.zip

                                Please note that for beta 4 I have made some substantial changes to how things fit together, so don't get too comfortable with the source for the current release, as anything you write to work with it now is likely to need equally substantial changes.

                                And you shall have it, you'll just have to wait until the next version is finished. I expect I'll release it when the custom models are mostly finished, but there's no fixed date when that will happen.
